Points: 6,158.59 Bank: 78,575.82 Total Points: 84,734.41 | Elevated testosterone? Got my labs back and I have testosterone at 65, which is "high" according to my endo. Inciid faq suggests over 50 as elevated... so... ok... it's elevated.
Endoc wants me to go back on Glucophage once I decide to wean my daughter and since I'm doing child-led, it may or may not be a while.
Anyone else dealt with this? Elevated testosterone whether or not you were nursing? What can I expect as far as treatment? Or is the Glucophage it?

Since no one else has answered yet, I'll give you what I know. Sadly I can't answer all of your questions though.
My testosterone has always tended to run in the 80's. I was young (late teens/ early twenties), considered "infertile", and the only treatment offered to me was BCP. This was back in the dinosaur days of the late 80's, early 90's. That seemed to be their treatment for everything!
I wish you luck and I hope someone with more knowledge of the Glucophage and Testosterone issue comes along to help!
Dana

I'm still doing the BCP treatment for both PCOS and Endo. One requires less androgens, one more. Feel my frustration! There just has to be a better way, and I'm determined to find it. I was found IR when I was 19, before my doctors (at least) knew of its connection to PCOS. I'm hoping once I get into a Reproductive Endocrinologist I might get to try Met.
Wishing both of you luck! I'd think someone out there would have experience in this.

when we started ttc in 2001, i had labs checked and my testerone was high also. that's when they dx the pcos. plus i had no af's and anovulation. i can't remember what the number was, but i'm pretty sure it was in the 80's??
well after the fertility drugs didn't work, i decided to do the lowcarb and exercise thing. and after doing that for a fews months af and ovulation was happening, plus i had my testosterone checked and it was in the normal range!!! i was shocked.
so i did it with no drugs at all and just ate healthy......whole grains, no sugar, lots of vegies and protein, etc.....basically no icky white stuff (white flour, sugar).
bonus factor.....i got pg also....sadly i m/c'ed last week, but i know that it works and i don't have to take drugs. yahoo!!!!!
hth....sara

Is this bad/good? What will happen to me if not corrected

That's always a good starting point.
I do well diet wise, but I'm not consistent exercise-wise. I keep trying, but it's just not consistent. I'm going ot have to buckle down and just kepe at that end of things, esp. if it will help with the elevated stuff.
