Ok, this is embarrassing...but I have to ask. I've never had a complete brazilian wax. I've been neglecting that area lately and now I need to know: how do you prepare for it? Do you trim? lol I figured it might be a good idea because the hair is so course...it might hurt less? Anyway, let me know if you have any tips.

i had a full brazilian, and the women who did it told me that the hair should be trimmed to like a quarter of an inch or third of an inch long. also, coarse hair can be more difficult... mine isn't super coarse so it works well on me, but my friend has coarse hair, and she had a lot of pain and not too good results.
I've only had a brazilian once but I agree with everyone else about the trimming. I don't know if it would help much, but you might want to take some aspirin too before you go. Also, it would probably be beneficial to make sure you go to someone who really knows what they are doing. In my experience the actual waxing part hurt, but was pretty quick and therefore not too bad. The part that brought tears to my eyes was after the waxing when she had to pluck the missed hairs with the tweezers. Ouch!!! Good luck!

I agree with everyone, trimming is your best bet.
Good luck & I hope you are happy with the results! I can only speak for myself but I knew after my first time getting a brazilian that I'd be back....I've been going for almost a year now!

That's a general truth with waxing. If hair is fine, waxing can work well. If the hair is coarse, male-type, hair, then there comes a point where waxing just doesn't do the job.
Are any of you ladies who have this done oerweight? I am so embarrassed to let anyone see me except my dh. Also how much does Brazilian take? All of it or does it leave a line or what? Just wondering.

All of it if you want, or, you can leave what's called a "landing strip."

Hi!
I'm overweight and that kept me from going for almost a year. Finally, I decided that I was tired of putting things off "until" I lose weight, or until this, that or the other thing. I deserve good things just as much as anyone else.
Luckily the girl that I go to is awesome, she makes me feel so at ease and while she's doing the waxing we chit chat and before I know it, it's over.
I used to get full Brazilians (okay, with a landing strip), but then I switched back to just a standard bikini.
For one, when it starts growing back in, it can be very uncomfortable for DH during s*e*x - you know, prickly. In fact, that's why I only get the standard. There's supposed to be some hair down there.
As for prepping for the pain - just remember that childbirth will be worse. No, seriously - I wish I could remember the names, but there are a couple of creams that you can probably find in a local drugstore that provide temporary numbing. I don't know how well they work because I've never tried them (just bite the bullet and try not to scream), but I have a GF who has low pain tolerance who uses something like that.
Good luck!
