Default Emotional Problems

I'm on Ocella birth control (generic Yasmin) for my PCOS. And I was just wondering.. Can Ocella cause emotional imbalances? I've noticed that since taking Ocella I'm completely unbalanced. I get really upset over the stupidest things or overly sensetive.

Any ideas?

Yeah, birth control can cause hormonal imbalances. I don't have any personal experience with that exact brand but I know that birth control in general can make you feel completely off balance. I would try it for a couple of weeks, usually after that, your hormones will even out. If they don't, talk to your doc about either switching bc or trying a different route for treatment altogether.

I'm sorry you're feeling weird. I hope you get feeling better soon!

Default I feel ya!

Hey michellezearing,

I actually used to take Yaz (Yasmin) and HATED IT!! I found the same thing that you found, it had my emotions out of control and at the time I couldn't figure out what was doing it, but a month or two later I knew it was the Yaz. My advice is RUN QUICK!!!

never tried Yaz, heard to many bad things lol, but I was put on Elice (I think thats what it was called? lol) anyways I was a totally different person and had no control over emotions, it was horrible. I know what your going through, if you think its serious deff talk to your dr about it espeically if it effects your daily life, hope it goes well for you

I've actually been more anxious being off of Yaz. I just asked my new doc for a new prescription! I guess everyone is different.

I don't know if it was a on set of a bunch of **** that's going on all at once. Or the Oscella (generic Yaz) is messing with my stuff.

Be careful with the Yaz. I don't want to induce panic on the forum, but my sister was taking Ortho-Tricyclen, then her gyno switched her to Yaz b/c her medical card paid for it. She was on it for a few months and in Dec. 2007, she had a headache that lasted all weekend. She had to be rushed to the hospital by the squad because she had a stroke.

She survived, but will never be the same because of the giant hole in her brain. The doctors have said the Yaz could have caused the clot.

I will probably never go on BC again...even if it means my periods are irregular.
