Default emu oil for facial hair?

Hi there -

I just purchased a small bottle of emu oil to start using at night along my hairline and a tiny bit throughout my scalp.

I believe it's been touted as a dht inhibitor and I've heard some good reviews with it regarding hairloss. Just started so I can't report there yet.

I was rubbing some on my chin after a pluck session left it red, because I've also heard this is a good anti-inflammitory agent. I think it helped get the red out a little quicker!

But it also got me wondering if in addition to a hair growth aide on the head, could it possibly work as a growth INHIBITOR on the face.

Anyone try this?

I have dry skin anyway so I'm starting to put a drop or two in my facial moisturizer at morning and night.

I'm doing some other things that seem to be helping but I still have periods where they all seem to want to spring up at the same time so I'm looking for other ways to combat this topically.

I think it's supposed to be good for your skin anyway so lets hope if I don't get rid of facial hair then maybe I can work on my wrinkles!

I'm curious to know about this as well. Let us know how it turned out!

Ummmm a big fat "dunno"

Hard to say if it's helping or not.

One positive that I can say about it is that it really helps with the inflammation I get after plucking my chin/lip area. So for that reason, I'll be continuing it.

I have heard some positive reports on girls using saw palmetto topically a while back too. I may try that again as well.

I actually use emu oil on my face, i am getting desperate enough to oil up my hair now though too.
Anyway, I use it purely as a moisturizer (really cant find a better one) and I have been using it for around a year now and I can't really see any difference. Any reduction in facial hair I have had has been due to flutamide.

Okay I think I can say for sure that the emu oil on the face isn't impacting my facial hair.

But to all my fellow tweezers out there, this stuff works awesome for the redness I get after a pluck session!

I'm still using it on my scalp and am considering mixing a few essential oils in to see if it helps. (not a first line of treatment, just something else to try) It's supposed to help any treatments you try work better because of it's transdermal properties.

I'm also trying to use saw palmetto capsules on my face now. I remember reading a long time ago that some other pcosers had some success with this. I'll use it with my emu oil at night and see if it helps.

My facial hair was a lot better for a while, but around ovulation and af this month it went crazy! I think the warm weather also speeds up the growth for some reason.

So hopefully this will help tame the beast!

Have you tried any essential oils with astringent properties? I tried lemongrass and it seemed to help. If I could ever figure out how to make my own shampoo I would be extremely happy. For now I'll have to keep putting it in my shampoo.
