My gyno had started me on met. in Feb. and I slowly started gaining weight. ( Now 30lbs) he referred me to an endo to see if I should continue the met.
she did some bloodwork and at my follow up appt w/ her she told me it all came back fine, cortisol just a little high and I needed to try eating lean cuisine dinners - I was so pissed - I told her that I had been following the IR Diet & had previously lost 45lbs I'm just gaining it all back w/o changing my diet at all.
her solution was to offer me the weight loss drug meridia for 1 month then start back on met again. this is so frustrating I feel like i have just wasted so much time and money .
I just really feel like something has gone wacky with my body since starting the met. like it triggered something now no matter what I do I am gaining weight. It's so depressing and on top of everything I stopped going to the gym because I have outgrown all of my work out clothes-and I used to go everyday or I felt horrible, now I lay around feeling sorry for myself.
Does anybody know where I can find the link for labwork guidlines?
Or what the estadiol is supposed to be?
thanks for listening, I just needed to get this off my chest.
Don't get discouraged! It sounds to me as if your doctor really isn't listening to you. If I were in your situation I would consider looking for a new doctor. JMO, though! The link for labwork guidelines is a sticky in the newbies forum. Here is the link:

I have had my thyroid checked several times & they say it normal, the 2 lab reports I have copies of show values of 2.42 & 2.9 which are within the range for those labs - a lot of my symptoms do seem like hypo. - but my labs dont show it. Just wish I could find out whats going on with my body!
I really thought the met. was going to help w/ some of the problems pcos has caused, now I'm even more confused & should I start the met. again or just say forget it and try to loose the weight I've gained back?
Has anyone tried Meridia, did it seem to help at all with taking off weight more than diet & exercise alone?
Thanks
Have you had your Testosterone levels checked? I believe that is what caused my crazy weight gains. I know that their are times when I don't feel like exercising, but I never regret doing it. I have really difficult times motivating myself sometimes. I don't look at is as just a means for weight loss but overall health and it helps with my mood and lowers my stress level.
