Endo Or just Pcos symptoms?

Hello,

I just found out I had PCOS last year but I have been on my period for years before hand. I started taking the Yasmin birthcontrol Dec08 and my period stopped, I was only on my period when I went off the pill for 7 days. In July when I went off the pills my period was very painful so I wanted to stop it early and went back on the pills, however my period did not stop yet. At first it was just my period and I wasn't scared now its very painful. I have lots of gas and gas pressure and sometimes when im full of gas i get shooting pain in the bottom of my back. My period gets so heavy and painful then slows down but the gas just never goes away, it feels like im going to explode when I eat.
The birthcontrol im on are supposed to be the best!? why did they just stop working? does this mean I don't even have pcos? Can my hormones change and cause this? Are these symptoms and pain from something else like endo? I'm terrified and have lots of questions and my gyno sent me for a blood test last week and didn't call me back and went on vacation =( So now im posting on here before i go crazy worrying all day and night. Id love if someone responded to this~

I just recently went off Yasmin after being on it since my 2nd dd was born nearly 7 years ago. I was taking it continuously - so I only had about 4 periods a year. It worked great for the first few years but then I started having breakthrough bleeding which can happen when you do the 4 times a year thing. And about the last 2 or 3 years it has gotten progressively worse. I was also getting more and more pain in my lower right abdomen along with the bloating, gassy pain you described and when it started hurting on my right side under my rib cage too I decided I needed to get looked at. I had an US and they found uterine fibroid tumors (I have had some removed before in previous laps for endo) and my liver was enlarged. I started acupuncture and wanted to see what it would do without the bcps. So far I have been glad for that decision - the pain is better and I have more energy.

I'm not sure what the blood work is for. The pain and symptoms could be endo but it could also unfortunately be other things - IBS, PCOS symptoms, and probably thousands of other things that I don't even know about. Is there another dr you can talk to in the practice or anything? It sucks having to wait especially when you don't feel good. I hope your dr. gets back soon! GL

THANKS! for replying, maybe it is breakthrough bleeding and i hope it goes away.
I am still waiting to get my ultrasound, I already had one before and they didn't see anything this is getting very frusterating.

Heya

Sounds a bit like Irritable Bowel, the gassy pains in particular. The bleeding situation happened to me on Yaz as well, bled non stop for a few months so I went off it.

I hope the docs can get some answers for you asap!!
