Default Endo in NC?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any good Endocrinologists in NC, in the Charlotte area? The one I am set to go see has about a two month waiting list to get in to see him, and I need to get started on my program now. Speaking of, is it normal to have to wait for two months to see an endo?

I don't know of any in the area (I used to live in the area, but didn't see one).

Have you thought about trying to get in at Duke, UNC, or Baptist? Depending on where you live in Charlotte, it may not be that much futher than driving uptown to see a doc! You might be able to get in in one of those places and get started on a program then switch to someone more local.

Or, can your regular doc do a consult with an endo, get teh requested labs and what not done and then start you on a program until you can get in to see the endo?

It was kind of weird, I was diagnosed by my OBGYN, and she just kind of made me an appointment with an endo then kind of left me to myself, ya know? Everything I've learned about PCOS so far has been by myself. Oh and also with the diabetes. So my doctors have been not helpful at all.

It was just like she called me and said, we got your labs back, you have type 2 diabetes and PCOS, we're sending you to an endocrinologist in two months. And then just kind of left me hanging, ya know? I know I have to find some better docs or something.

And is it normal to have to wait 4 or more months to see your OBGYN even if you haven't had a period in over 2 and a half years? I told the nurse this, and if I hadn't have gone to my regular doctor and insisted on seeing someone (all I got to see was a nurse), I would still be sitting here wondering where my period went.
