Ok gals heres the deal the only blood test my obgyn did last time was for prolactin, nothing else. My next scheduled apt is to have an ultrasound with another dr. at same office who happends to be an endo. ( they are doing the ultrasound cuz last ultrasound showed my uterus lining was wayyy too thick) Should I speak with my endo about doing other hormonal blood work or should I wait until my next apt with my Obgyn?
My gyno confirmed cysts on my ovaries with a vaginal ultrasound. Then they got into doing the blood work. So you might want to ask them to look at your ovaries when they're doing it. Then ask specifically for the blood work. I had to go to a new gyno and specifically ask for testing to confirm PCOS. They didn't put all my symptoms together on their own, I did my own research and had to ask. Sucks but sometimes it's what you got to do.

I personally think that blood tests are the way to go with PCOS. You can have PCOS and not actually have any cysts in your ovaries, so in my opinion an ultrasound may not catch it, even if you have it. I was diagnosed on blood tests alone a few years ago. A couple months ago I had an abdominal CAT scan for something else, and they saw a bunch of cysts then. But when I was diagnosed, they never actually did a CT scan or an ultrasound. My endo said that you can definitely have PCOS without any actual cysts, so it isn't fool-proof.
