I have an appointment with Dr Gil, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with her? I did a search but nothing came up. I am hoping to find an endo that is comfortable with off lable rx's.
TIA

Dr Sabrina Gill? If so...yes, I've seen her. She dx'd me with PCOS, and put me on spiro and metformin. So...yeah, I think she's ok with off label.
I'm not her biggest fan....but who knows. I also haven't seen any other endos besides her.

Well, I guess what I didn't like was partially a retrospect thing. What I mean, is that while I was going to her, I asked about the possibility of my thyroid being a factor in my hair loss, depression, etc. and she basically said that my thyroid was fine. (though, she didn't thoroughly consider it) And then later, when I found a different doctor and got onto thyroid meds, it really helped. So, I think I'm just frustrated that an endo, someone that specializes in hormones, didn't consider my thyroid more seriously.
I was sent to her because my testosterone levels were very high, but she didn't try to find the cause....she just tried to treat the symptoms. I don't know...maybe that's just not feasible with our healthcare system. But I want to know why my hormones are messed up, and then fix the root problem, not just stick a bandaid over them.
I hope she's able to help you.

I've gotten to the point that I just don't get my hopes up very high with doctors anymore.
But, even if Dr. Gill isn't perfect....she might find/do something for you that really helps...even if it isn't everything.
BTW, do you happen to know a good general family doctor?

i see Dr Tokic at the Seymore Medical Clinic http://www.seymourclinic.com/
i dont know her very well, as i used midwives for my pregnancy, and we have been well since, so i havent beem there much.
But i like her well enough, she is younger, and seems open, we havent talked about PCOS much, so I would suggest giving her an interview before making up your mind.
