Default Endo vs GP

Hello,
I was just diagnosed this week with PCOS and my gyno recommended that I request an IR test from either my general family practicioner or an endo. Which have you had better luck with? I'm leaning towards finding a good endo doctor and saving myself any hassle with my GP. Any thoughts?

Thank you for any insight you can offer!!

welcome to sc I see my gp for follow ups, but my main pcos/hormone problems are sorted out by my endo. who then writes to my gp

IMO, if all you need is someone to write you an order for IR bloodwork, it doesn't matter who does it. If they do standard b/w (not fasting in the office), it'll take 5 minutes each way (writing the order and having the blood drawn). And then if you're still looking for an endo, you'll have those results already.
