Question Endocronoglist or RE in South Florida?

Hello all!! I would love to know if I need to go to a endocronoglist or an RE? I am not looking to get pregnant I am just trying to see if they will put me on Met. I live Broward county...so somewhere close would be great, but at this point it doesn't really matter right hehe. Thanks so much for your help!! God bless you and yours!!

Thanks for the heads up, but I looked on my insurance book and she isn't there.....I just went to my doctor yesterday to get a referral I don't really know how that works so I might get anyone!!! Well thanks for letting me know...maybe I can call blue cross and see if she is just not on an updated list. God bless you and yours!!!

Hi Emily,

I was also going to suggest Dr Woods (their are other Drs in that group check your insurance) or Dr Abae North Lauderdale. For an endo I would look to see if either Dr. Vivian Rose in Coral Springs or Dr. Novellette Thompson at Holy Cross, in Ft Lauderdale.

Good luck!

Dh and I have decided adoption is right option for us!

Our son Sam was born 11/07/03 and came home to us on 11/12/03, oh the miracle of adoption!

Tricia,

I was also looking at the two dr you suggested. For some reason women doctors are easier. I think they understand more. I let my DH know how I feel it is like okay I feel bad for you, but he won't understand. Well just curious have you seen Vivian Rose ? I was thinking about driving the extra way to see her. I live closer to Pembroke Pines, but no endo there so I guess I will be driving pretty far no matter what hehe. Thanks so much!!!

Hi Emily,

I understand the women dr thing, but it is hard when you only have certain ones in your plan. Dr Rose, is a man.

My husband goes to Memorial Regional, the center for Endicrine care. He really likes it there, they have endos and RE's. He sees Lehrman as an endo, and Gellinger is the RE. You may want to try them. They are both men.

Too bad Dr Woods is not in your plan, her office is awesome. You may want to call because there may be another Dr in her office that would take your insurance. Would not hurt to try.

Good luck!

Exclamation Desperate(ish)

Hi Ladies

Here is my problem... I used to be a patient of Dr. Vivian Rose but I can no longer find his phone number in the phone book or anything (nor can I find my Gyno, Mark Grenitz). Currently, I am living in South Korea and the nearest Endrocrinologist who knows about PCOS is 4 hours away :S. I need new Rx's for either Glucophage or Metformin and can't guarantee that I'll be able to get it in my city. Does anyone have or can find for me either Doctors phone number? I would prefer Dr. Rose since he has all my ultrasounds and records.

Thank you in advance

Alicia!

Default Dr. Rose

P.S. Dr. Rose is a man. I believe he's afro-caribbean which would explain that his first name is Vivian.

I saw 4 doctors in Miami in less than 2 months, all were miserable except the last one who I liked (but is only in her office every other Monday - have no idea why) if you can deal with the weird scheduling, she is helpful and understanding (she has thinning hair - i think maybe she has pcos? )

Dr Nahida Chakatura (sp) and shes on blue cross. 305-585-5160
