You can certainly still have children even if you have Endometriosis. It can sometimes be a little more difficult, but it is still very "conceivable," pun intended

Everyone has different signs/symptoms. Some of the most unique symptoms (but could still be something else) are pain after intercourse (usually sharp, stabbing, and throbbing) or bowel pain (same) with or without a bowel movement. It also depends on if you think your period pain is more intense than it used to be/than other women experience.

This thread is going to get a lot of different responses with different experiences with Endo. The best thing you can do is talk to your OB/GYN (if your OB/GYN is the one that said you wouldn't be able to get pregnant, I'd find a different one!) and see what he/she thinks.

There are a few different methods of managing Endo, and you won't know you have it FOR SURE until exploratory surgery, at the very least. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY way to officially diagnose it, but my OB/GYN surgeons won't schedule it until they are fairly certain that you have it.

I have PCOS and Endometriosis, and I was told by an OB/GYN (I fired her after this that I would never be able to have children (even worse - that it was my fault for allowing myself to become overweight). I WAS ABLE TO GET PREGNANT, but I lost the baby. I am currently 5 dpo and feeling good about this cycle!

Don't lose hope just because of Endometriosis. Best of luck!

I also have endometriosis and PCOS and have a 2 year old son so yes you can concieve, but it can be difficult for some people. I had IVF but my mother has endometriosis and had my family, so every case is different.
I know it is hard not to worry especially when you hear all different stuff from people who may not know much.
Hope you are feeling better in yourself now and not worrying so much.
Always come in here for some advise as you will get lots in here.
Take care

2.Why or Why not??? Because to get PG you need ovulation and a hospitable uterus. Endometriosis is outside of the uterus and generally has to be quite severe (causing adhesions and severe scar tissue) to impact fertility that much. It is also manageable and can be lasered off.
3.How ALL would u know if u had Endometeriosis??? To get an official diagnosis you have to have a laparoscopy. Usually this is done when your doctor strongly suspect you may have endo. They generally laser any endo while they are doing the lap, to help relieve symptoms.
4.What are ALL of the signs & symptoms??? Symptoms vary from person to person. The biggest complaint, and what endo is known for, is pain. Pelvic pain, bloating, painful intercourse, painful urination, and painful bowel movements are signs of endometriosis.
5.Anyone have Endometeriosis & have gotten pregnant??? Me!

1) It can make it more difficult, but yes, you can still get pregnant.
2) It can block your fallopian tubes and/or scar other areas like ovaries.
3) Like others have said, for an official diagnosis you have to get a laproscopic surgery done. Many individuals and/or their doctor suspect it based on discomfort or pain.
4) The only symptoms I had was pain in my left side when I Oed out of that side around the time of O. We also discovered via HSG that my left tube was blocked.
5) As you can see by my sig that I am currently pregnant. We used Femara and timed BDing and miraculously enough I Oed out of my left side that month. I had the Lap surgery in August, got pregnant in Sept, but it was a chemical, but then got pregnant again in October.

Good luck to all you ladies TTC!!

This is kinda long... but hope it helps!

1.Someone told me if u have Endometeriosis that u can't get pregnant ever/have any kids ever is this true???- Not at all- I was diagnosed with Endo at age 17 and now (age 24) we are preg. with twins after our first round of IVF. While the endo made it more difficult it was definatly not impossible!
2.Why or Why not??? We tried several rounds of Clomid and IUI's all which failed. But we were very blessed to have our first IVF attempt be successful. The trick is to find an excellent doctor and keep the faith! Don't give up on yourselves!
3.How ALL would u know if u had Endometeriosis??? Talk to your dr and get a laporoscopy done. That is the only sure fire way to find out!
4.What are ALL of the signs & symptoms??? My symptoms started when I was about 16/17. I had severe cramping with periods and my periods would sometime last up to 3 weeks then I would only have a week without one and it would start all over again. It was getting to the point where the family thought about investing in Always stock! My cramping was so bad that the drs prescribed everything from tylenol 3, darvacet, vicodin, etc. But none would fully releave the pain. As well as BCP to try and regulate everything. I then went to a different Ob and they had me try Lupron injections for 3 months...basically tried to send my body into menopause. That worked for a little while but the mood swings, hot flashes, and other side effects were almost as bad! After that they sent me to a specialist who decided we should do a lap. So in 2007 I had my first lap where they found Stage 3 endo EVERYWHERE. The surgery took about an hour longer than they thought it would because there was so much of it. So after that I tried birth control patches (which I was allergic to!). So back to BCP and I felt GREAT for about 1 year and 1/2 and at 2 years I went in and had a second lap. This time it had grown back even more aggressively and it was stage 4 and everywhere. So they took it all out and deadened some nerves and at this point DH and I were ready for kids so we stayed off all BCPs and started TTC. My RE said that the BEST cure for endo is pregnancy.
5.Anyone have Endometeriosis & have gotten pregnant??? Yes! We are so excited to be pregnant with twins. It was a long road to get here but I am due Dec 30th but they tell me these little beans will be here anytime after Thanksgiving and I can't wait! Plus I have never felt better as I haven't had ANY issues with endo since March (my last cycle).

Hope this helps! Hang in there and talk to your doctors. The most important thing is to keep in touch with them and let them know exactly how you are feeling. Good luck!!
