I came down to Alabama to be with her (was living in Michigan at the time), as far as I know all went very well. She had it as an alternative to hysterectomy, as she is thru bearing children (I'm 27 and my brother is 19), but was still having painful periods. She returned to work 2 days later, and hasn't had any pain since. I hope this works out for you!

Thanks. | I HAVE HAD IT DONE THIS DONE ABOUT THIRTY OR FORTY TIMES. IF YOU HAVE A NICE DR., HE WILL GIVE YOU A SEDATIVE A FEW HOURS BEFORE SURGERY. THIS WILL HELP TP RELAX YOU. THEY USE A GENERAL ANETHETIC, SO YOU WON'T BE AWAKE. BEST SLEEP YOU WILL EVER HAVE. WHILE YOU ARE ASLEEP, THEY WILL INSERT A NASOGASTRIC TUBE AND A FOLEY CATHETER. THESE ARE DONE SO YOU WON'T ASPIRATE ON STOMACH CONTENTS AND PEE YOURSELF WHILE YOUR NOT LOOKING. SOUNDS SCARY, BUT IT IS FOR YOUR PROTECTION. THEN THEY WILL MAKE A SMALL CUT IN YOUR BELLY BUTTON AND ONE OR TWO IN YOU PELVIC AREA. THESE ARE ABOUT 1/4 OF INCH LONG. THEY ARE NOT VERY BIG AND HEAL NICELY. THESE ARE TO INSERT INSTRUMENTS IN. ONE IS FOR A CAMERA AND THE OTHER IS FOR WHATEVER THEY NEED TO TAKE CARE OF WHAT IS CAUSING YOU PAIN. THEY WILL INFLATE YOU STOMACH WITH AIR AND TAKE A LOOK AROUND TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THEN THEY WILL FIX IT, REMOVE EVERYTHING AND WHEEL YOU INTO SURGERY RECOVERY. THERE THEY WILL MONITOR YOUR URINARY OUTPUT AND VITAL SIGNS. THEY WILL ALSO GIVE YOU PAIN MEDICENE AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE ALRIGHT. AFTER THIS THEY WILL TAKE YOU BACK TO YOUR ROOM, SO YOU CAN WAKE UP AND VISIT WITH FAMILY MEMBERS. THEY WILL WANT YOU TO EAT OR DRINK AND GO TOTHE RESTROOM ON YOUR OWN. YOU CAN NOT DRIVE YOURSELF HOME, SO BRING SOMEONE YOU TRUST TO DRIVE YOU. TRY TO GET UP AND MOVE AROUND AS MUCH AS YOU CAN TOLERATE. THE ANETHESIA MAY MAKE YOU HAVE SHARP PAINS IN YOUR CHEST, ABDOMEN, AND BACK AREA. THE AIR MAY DO THIS TOO. DO NOT DRIVE OR MAKE IMPORTANT DECISIONS IN THIS TIME. REST, RELAX, AND HEAL. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. GOOD LUCK.... |

Points: 224.01 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 224.01 | I had an ablation done in January 2008. It has been WONDERFUL!!!!! I had no incisions.....it was done outpatient in the hospital and I was in and out in 3 hours. I had it done on a Friday afternoon and was at a basketball game (spectator) on Saturday morning.
I am still having a period but they are very light and only lasting 2 days. I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The stick what they call a "gun" in the vaginal vault after your cervix is dilated. They "fire" it which all they are doing in burning the lining of your uterus. In and out and home in a couple of hours. Piece of cake! Good luck on your upcoming surgery!!
