Default endometrial biopsy?

My doctor (well not my doctor) but the doctor at the low cost clinic asked me if my periods were heavy. And I said yes. I mean what is heavy? Is there a norm? They seemed heavy to me but they have always been on like the 2nd and 3rd day. And she said I should have an endometrial biopsy. Well I am not particularly fond of the idea. Should I try to see an obgyn rather than a regular doctor and get their opinion? Because I don't want to randomly have an endometrial biopsy. Thanks!

Unhappy

Moondogfluffy, I hope you are right about the biopsy not being too bad. I am going for one on Tuesday morning and not looking forward too it. I just want it to be over already.

I just had one done last Monday. To me, it was very painful but always remember that everyone's body is different!

Thanks RosieCheeks, I appreciate the honesty. I have heard everything from it's horrible, to I barely noticed. So I guess it really does depend on the individual person, doctor, and method used. I am just really nervous about it.

I don't think that they cut a piece of the lining with me. The RE told me that he would stick the cathetar (sp?) through the cervix and suck a piece of the lining out. Let me tell you, it felt like he was sucking out my belly button from the inside...LOL

Even though, they do tell you to take some Mortin or Tylenol half an hour to an hour before.
