Default Endometrial Biopsy!! Grrrrrr!

Hi everyone. I am just looking to my Cysters for support. My gyn is doing a biopsy on me this monday. Something came back in my lab tests really elevated. Dummy me forgot what exactly she said but she wanted me in to do a biopsy asap. I guess i am just scared and mad right now. Why me i am only 26. Could this mean i have cancer? She wasn't concerned with anything else dhe just said that the test that was elevated usually means cancer or a tumor. Thanks for listening {reading }

Default I had my 2nd endometrial biopsy 2 weeks ago.

I understand exactly how you feel! I've been through it twice now. Both Doctors freaked me out by wanting to schedule it immediately and not explaining all the reasons why thoroughly. Needless to say, both of mine were negative and I'm sure yours will too. Did they give you any instructions prior to the biopsy?

No they didn't give me any instructions. i called and asked and all they said was i could take tylenol or advil 1 hour before because it may cause severe cramping!

That is what they told me too and I strongly advise it to be on the safe side. Many people told me that all they had was mild cramping, unfortunately for me, mine was severe and quite painful. The good news is: whether mild or really bad it is a fairly quick procedure. I bled for a little while afterwards but the cramping and was isolated just to the procedure and didn't really last afterwards. Your doc will also probably tell you no intercourse for a couple of days as well. You are just a little younger than I was when I had my first biopsy. (I am 32 now.) I'm sure that your doctor is just being cautious and thorough, which is a good thing. I had too many doctors for too many years tell me that all my problems were because I was athletic or had too much stress. Anyway, I'm sure everything will be okay! - Kim

Default Normal for abnormal test at your age.

If you are only 26 then it might be perfectly normal for you to have an abnormal test. I had one around 24-25 and so did my sister. My mother works in an OB/GYN office and said that most people have changes in the uteris at this point in thier lives. The biopsy does hurt like h.ll. But I wouldn't worry too much.

I had one a few months ago. I had no pain, just some on and off bleeding for a few days. I just went in for my regular pap, and we were talking about how regular my cycles were now. I told her that there were times I only had 2-3 periods a year. She asked if I ever had a biopsy. I said no, and she did it right there and then. I went to work right after. My test came back normal :-) Everyone's pain level is different, and I am usually a big baby, this didn't hurt me at all. Good luck, I am sure that all will be fine.
