Unhappy endometrial cancer

Has anyone been diagnosed with endometrial cancer?

my story:

I went to my gyne with hopes if getting help to conceive a second child. I took clomid for 2 months and after the 2nd round my gyne send me for an ultrasound to make sure my ovaries weren't overstimulated. The ultrasound showed a thick lining so an endometrial biopsy was done. The biopsy results were complex hyperplasia with no atypia. The doctor suggested I have a d&c done to clear me out and to also do further testing to be "on the safe side" The results came back that small amounts of cancer were found. My doctor informed me that he ordered the tissue be sent to another clinic for a second opinion and informed me that I would have to have a hysterectomy and is trying to get in contact with a gyne oncologist for me to see. I can't accept that. I'm only 26. I know I should be happy that I at least have one child but I want more. I can't accept that a hysterectomy is the only option. I'm praying for a miracle and that the second opinion shows no cancer and that it's all a misdiagnosis.

Please if you have been diagnosed, please share your story with me. Also, I'm asking for prayers. Please pray for a miracle for me.

well i haven't experienced that, but for some reason the past month i've been really worried about me having edometrial, uterine or ovarian cancer. i had my first period at about age 11, now 20 and had maybe 10 periods at the very most, and it's now been a year since the last. knowing that all of that is all stored in my body scares me greatly. and i've just had this really weird gut feeling about it. i've been having some really bad crampin for about a month now. not crampin straight but off and on, and i feel alot of pressure, almost like i want to push a baby out or something, it's really odd. i haven't had an ultrasound in probably 3+ yrs, i'm calling tomorrow to get an appt. to get scanned and check. i will deffinately pray for you. but have you experienced anything like i've been experiencing? also would me having a d&c be an option to clean everything out of me? i'm not really familiar with a d&c. but good luck!

I hope everything is okay. My mother (56) Just recently recieved a full hysterectomy for having endometrial cancer. She is fully recovered and cancer free. I am hoping for you that is not the case, and that the second doctor can give you other news besides cancer . My prayers are with you.

Wow. You seriously need to speak with a doctor about this!! That is scary, especially if you just have a feeling. Women usually know their bodies pretty well.

Tiffany, I didn't have any of the symptoms you are having. I had periods quite often. The longest cycle would be around 55 days but usually they were 32 days apart. The only symptom I had was bleeding/spotting in between periods but that was only maybe in the past 2 or 3 months. If you feel anything is wrong its best to just go to the doctor and be tested.

Thank you all for your prayers. I will be sure to keep everyone updated.

I will be praying for you as well. I'm 26 myself and could.'t imagine such a scary thing happening. My aunt was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago, and thank God her cancer insurance policy was paid up because she wasn't able to work. She has made a full recovery, and I hope that you were just misdiagnosed!

I'll most definitely be thinking good vibes at you christinag...It's bloody scary to be facing that sort of thing! I still remember the exact moment that my doctor first mentioned the C word to me...

I was 26 when I was first diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia. The original biopsy showed nothing alarming, but the tissue samples they took during the D&C showed >90% abnormal cells. My doctor wanted to do an immediate hysterectomy, but like you, I wasn't quite ready to give up my ability to have another child. He put me on massive doses of progesterone and 6 months later did another D&C. The tissue samples taken during the second D&C showed no abnormal cells. I was clear, but only for the time being.

The doctor told me that the condition would almost certainly come back and that I should have a biopsy done every year until I was done having children, then I should schedule a hysterectomy. Well four years later I still haven't had another biopsy done and still haven't been able to conceive. I've moved around a bit and have had an extremely difficult time finding another doctor who would actually believe what's written in my medical charts... Now the symptoms are all back and I finally found a doctor who's not completely dismissing the situation out of hand because "Only menopausal women develop this condition"...

Regardless of what the second opion says about the cancer cells, you may want to discuss some additional form of treatment with your doctor. Talk to him about your options, including the far out there ones... And look into alternate methods of having another child. If you finances can afford it, consider surrogacy...or adoption... We're looking into that sort of thing now, in preparation for the worst.

Sorry to hear about this. I can't imagine dealing with this at such a young age. It must feel as though the world is coming to an end. I hope the doctor can find another way to treat this, but I'm glad they caught it early.

If you do require a hysterectomy there may be other options for having a second child. Depending on your finances, a gestational surrogate could help you have a 2nd biological child. It's an expensive option, but an option all the same.

Thank you all for your responses. I met with the oncologist today and depending the outcome of an MRI I'm having on Saturday to try to see if the cancer has spread to the muscle, I may be able to try treating with hormones. I'm hoping that will be the case. I have a follow up on Monday to discuss treatment.

I've got my fingers crossed for you. I spent 6 months on some VERY strong doses of hormones...they made me feel miserable and sick the whole time...but it was worth it. I hope that option is one that you can go with!
