I said ok when I know the hyperplasia is gone I will do that to keep the lining thin. That has not happened yet. Then this last doctor wanted me to remove my uterus because I was bleeding. I bled because she put my provera from 40 mg to 20 mg a day. I bled for two weeks. I got a new doctor at the hospital because I spent 4 days there not nights but days because I was in so much pain. They did a CT scan on my stomach and a Ultrasound. The lining was 1 cm thick. I had an infection in the Uterus and my cervix was nicked so that is why I had pain. She put me on antibiotics. She told me to stay on the 40 mg of provera daily till I got these biopsy results. So she will call me to make an appointment. She is a surgeon so I am thankful I was able to find someone right at the hospital willing to take me on right away.

When do you have to go in for a follow-up biopsy? You shouldn't feel much pain anymore. These are concerns you should be asking your doctor about. |

My Mood: Points: 323.79 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 323.79 | I have it 2.. i am on Megace 80mg a day. i am scared it won't go away. I was 1st put on Provera for 3 months and then do a biopsy (man, do those things hurt.) i went back after on Provera, it didn't help, my hyperplasia advanced to complex so my doctor put me on Megestrol 80mg a day and now i am scared that in December when i go to have another biopsy that it still won't be cured. I am 33 and want to have more children, so he said after he checks me in December he will give me 3 months to get pregnant and if i am not pregnant in 3 months than i will probably never get pregnant and that i should have a hysterectomy. I don't want to have that done.. so i am hoping and praying that this Megace takes it away.
Do you think loosing weight will help decrease the lining? Some docs say the period will return if you loose some weight. ?????
Peace,
MEg |

My Mood: Points: 9,533.98 Bank: 90,948.67 Total Points: 100,482.65 | Hey Meg! *BIG HUGS* I'm so sorry you are going through this too. Provera didn't help me either so I was put on megace. But megace made me very sick was giving me very bad stomach pains and bad nausea so my dr. took me off of it. Then I started having periods on my own. I have had two very heavy periods on my own. I go back to the dr. on Dec. 2nd.
I'm not sure if losing weight will help decrease the lining but it may help you get pregnant easier. That is scary your dr. wants you to have a hysterectomy if you don't get pregnant in a few months. Can they go in and do a D&C to clean you out?
I have a good low carb diet if you are interested. It works. My dr. lost 180lbs on it, his wife lost 80lbs and the nurse lost 90lbs on it. I did it for 1 1/2 months and lost 30lbs on it. I went off of it but am starting it again tomorrow.
I have a few friends that were eating the low carb foods on the list and they got pregnant right away.
Have you heard of FertilAid? I have read it helps regulate your hormones and helps get you pregnant. They have a mens formula too to help improve sperm. We just bought both the men and womens and started them today. So we'll see what happens.
I seen you added me on myspace. Hope to talk to you soon. I'm always here for you.
xoxo
Tera

Points: 7,190.14 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 7,190.14 | Meg, I am so sorry about this scary time for you. I have been told also that by losing weight your body will stop producing extra estrogen which is a major factor to developing hyperplasia. Losing weight is easier said than done, especially for us with PCOS, but it IS possible. For me, I was able to lose weight following a higher protein, higher fiber and complex carb diet along with (and this made the huge difference) weight training...the kind like men do. Heavy lifting so that you are building muscle to replace the fat. This is what has been the key for me to lose the weight and then maintain. Thankfully, with drug treatment, then losing weight and now being on birth control hyperplasia has not returned and I am symptom free with PCOS. I am still on Metformin. God bless you and I hope you are able to have more children.

Working on getting to my "ideal" weight. Approach: no sugar and weight training. Right now the symptoms of PCOS are being managed by 1500mg of Metformin and Seasonique birth control. My acne is gone (Praise God!) and I feel great as long as I stay away from sugar and dairy (darn metformin).
