Also how do you know if you have simple hyperplasia or hyperplasia with atipia? | They should be able to tell by an endometrial biopsy, or testing the lining after a D&C.

Working on getting to my "ideal" weight. Approach: no sugar and weight training. Right now the symptoms of PCOS are being managed by 1500mg of Metformin and Seasonique birth control. My acne is gone (Praise God!) and I feel great as long as I stay away from sugar and dairy (darn metformin).

I have the same exact problem but i am on provera and nothing has happened i have not had a period since august 2007 and i can really feel it. I dont know what to do about this problem can somebody please give me some advice on what to do next. I do have spotting and really bad pains that last for 10-20 minutes when it does come. Could this be turning into something else and what happens when your lining is to thick. |

Simple hyperplasia WITHOUT atypia
Simple hyperplasia WITH atypia
Complex hyperplasia WITHOUT atypia
Complex hyperplasia WITH atypia
The last one is the highest risk of TURNING INTO pre-cancerous material, or getting cancer later from it. The chance is something like 25%.
After you have it removed by means of a D&C, you will have to have a biopsy every 3 months, then every 6 months, then every year, until you get enough 'clean' ones that you are at lower risk. Also you may be put on BCP, Provera, or the Mirena IUD to keep the lining thin and make it shed often.
As long as the lining is made to shed, your risk is minimal. I have just been OK'd to have a biopsy only once every year, after having two clean 6-month ones. |

Provera should have made you start one. I would ask the dr. for Norethindrone. That's what my dr. gave me. It's a lot stronger than provera but it will get all of the thick lining out quickly.
I took 5mg (two tablets a day) for 14 days. Finished my pills last wed and started an extremely heavy period thursday. I am in lots of pain, tylenol and ibprofen are not helping with the bad cramps. It's only been 4 days and I have already went through a big pack of Always overnights pads.
I am always here if any one needs anyone to talk to.
Have a Great Week!
xoxo

if you dont mind can I ask how thick your lining was? I am having a biopsey on the 18th after dealing with bleeding all the time and being ignored for about 9 months. My ultrasound showed my lining to be abotu 2.1 cm. I'm just starting to freek out about the length of time my lining has been thick and want to get this matter resolved ASAP. Anyone know if there is a certin length of time you would have to not do anything for it to turn into cancer...I'm really worried. Hope everyone else is doing well!

Points: 1,961.05 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,961.05 | I have complex hyperplasia without aytipia cells. That is what the last biopsy said in Feb 08. I have pcos. I had been bleeding heavy for 20 days and that is why she did the biopsy. I was told to wait it out and start 5mg of provera after bleeding had stopped for I think it was 20 days. Then on the 5th day of that period start the BCP. Well that never happened. On day three of that cycle I ended up at hospital with a hemorage. She started me on 20mg of provera and told me I would not bleed with that and continue that till my next biopsy this month on the 19th. Well I was still spotting and bleeding 2 weeks after starting the 20mg of provera. She put it up to 40mg a day. That stopped the bleeding. PHEW! She told me to put it back down to 20mg of provera after 4weeks. I did that.... low and behold here are the menses AGAIN!!! I call in she says go back up to 40mg of provera a day again. Well it did not stop the bleeding. I saw her at her office this past Monday. She did another biopsy and she she did not like the look of it and that she is putting a rush on it. I will have the results next Monday. I am MORE THEN SCARED!! I am so fed up of bleeding. Cramps and whatnot. This has been since January. I had a U/S yesterday and the lining is 1cm I am so scared. I am TERIFFIED to be put to sleep. I have 6 year old twin boys. I don't want to die and I am so scared. Please pray this comes back with no atipical cells. I am so sick of all of this!!!

For me it is the wait. I am so scared! I know I have complex hyperplasia. I just hope that over the past four months it has not progressed to atypical cells. I am trying to stay calm but it is hard for me because on top of this I have very bad anxiety.

My Mood: Points: 9,533.98 Bank: 90,948.67 Total Points: 100,482.65 | I had a dr. appt today. My uterine lining is still very very thick. It only shrunk 2mms with this past heavy period. He said i'm one step away from it being full cancer. Right now it's just pre cancer. He told me not to worry or stress about it because he will do that for me. He said I was not to work until we get this all over with and i'm not supossed to stress about anything. He also said for me to get lots of rest.
He put me on Megace- 40mg. I have to take it 3 times a day for 3 months. He said I may spot while taking it but once I run out of pills in 3 months (that is 270 pills total) that I will have another very very heavy period but a lot heavier than last time. Once I start it heavy in 3 months I call him and let him know and he will check me one to two weeks after I start to see what it looks like then.
Megace- This drug is used to treat certain types of cancer and is also used to stimulate appetite in patients with certain types of significant weight loss (e.g., muscle wasting).
OTHER USES: This medication may also be used for pregnancy prevention, treatment of an enlarged prostate gland in men, or ob/gyn conditions (e.g., endometriosis).
I'm so glad that we have great health insurance now. Without insurance the 270 pills would have been 119.00 But with our insurance we only had to pay 20.00 So that was awesome!
It's really scary knowing i'm one step away from having cancer. It really makes me think about things. Life it to short to please everyone else. I need to live for me, God & Bill. I need to quit stressing about little things (all things really). I just wonder if this is a wake up call from God. Maybe he is trying to tell me I need to put myself before others and really concentrate on my health and happiness.
I also want to thank you all for being there for me and supporting me. All of you mean the world to me. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
xoxo
Tera

I fine out if I do this morning and I am scared!!! My last biopsy 4 months ago I had complex hyperplasia without aytipcal cells. I am so scared and anxious that the results I get this morninng say that the hyperplasia has progressed. I pray that to God that is not the case.
I have a very bad anxiety problem on top of this. I worry about my health all the time! Now I have something real to worry about
