I'm not sure if I have the ayipcal cells or not. I think I do because the nurse told me a month ago after they got the biopsy back that I had pre cancer cells. Is that the same thing?

Then I had to have two biopsies 6 months apart, and since they were both clean, I don't have to have any more. I don't understand why your doctor just doesn't do a D&C instead of messing with all of these drugs. I hope everything turns out for you! |

Points: 1,961.05 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,961.05 | I agree with you!! I have been saying that since the start and my doctor said that won't solve it. I am on a high dose of povera. 40 mg The first plan was for me to take provera get AF and on the 5th day of that cycle start the BCP but on the 3rd day of that cycle I hemorrhaged and went to the hospital and was put on premerin (that builds the lining to stop bleeding) not good! Then I saw the doctor two days later and she put me on 20 mg of provera. It did not completly stop the bleeding so she put me on 40 mg. I stopped bleeding and that was wonderful!! Then after 4 weeks doctor told me to put it down to 20 mg of provera and I started to bleed again. Doctor told me to put it back up and I did and I am still bleeding and spotting. I had another biopsy as I have mentioned and I am waiting on results from that. I so hope this has not progressed.
Farmgrrl did you have complex hyperplasia without aytipical cells?

I bled for 45 days and that was considered a really really big deal. To stop the bleeding they had me take two doses of BCP a day. The Premarin will make your lining THICKER as it has estrogen in it. I really think you need a second opinion ASAP. |

Points: 1,961.05 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,961.05 | Oh and I am no longer bleeding on 40 mg of Provera. Seems to be working well like it did till I put it down to 20 mg. The doctor I saw on Thursday said it was normal I bled because I put it down by half the dose. I might not be bleeding but I have one killer yeast infection! Got that from the antibiotics I was on from the biopsy giving me an infection two weeks ago. Oh the joys of womanhood.........

My Mood: Points: 2,590.42 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,590.42 | Hope no one minds but I have a question. I was supposed to have a biopsy yesterday but since the lab person was gone and they could not get the results of a pg test I had to reschedule. I am seeing Dr. Keefe at the Pope Paul Institute in Omaha and I got to talk with her a bit about hyperplasia and now I have to say I am even more confused then before. She told me that I did not even have to do the biopsy if I did want to, I could just chart for 2 months and then when she does my laprscopy in 2 months she would be able to tell what was going on. She told me that she thinks I am very much so a possibility a PCOSer! I could have hugged her for that! FINALLY a doctor thinks what I think! She also mentioned that people with PCOS typically have atypical cells in their biopsy. ???? This is so different from all that I have read. I asked her if we would do anything different if atypical cells were found and she said yes, she would put me on progesterone but I shouldn’t worry because I am only 26. Well I am worried I just want this taken care of. I don’t know what to do know...cant say that I want to go through an uncomfortable biopsy if I do not have to but I would also like to know that all is well. I rescheduled for the 2nd so I guess I will have to decide by then. Hope you all get the results and treatment you are hoping for your all in my prayers! |

Points: 1,961.05 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,961.05 | Has any ever taken progesterone every day for over 6 months? I am on 40 mg of provera and I am to take it every day. Does that take away the hyperplasia? I am so confused. I read most woman take 10mg for 15 days and are off for 15. Any help?

Points: 1,961.05 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,961.05 | Ok I got a copy of my biopsy results but have to wait two weeks to have someone read them. I have been googling and that is no help. This is what it said....
I figure I could ask. I know a doctor should explain this to me but I got a copy of my biopsy results and have to wait 2 weeks to have a doctor read them.
Ok my first biopsy the diagnosis was:
Endometrium Biopsy
Hyperplasia, complex, with:
No cytologicl Atypia
Breakthrough bleeding (slightly scanty Material)
So I understand that the lining is think with no Atipia.
Today I got this.
Diagnosis
Uterine cavity (curettage) Now I did not have a D&C she did this in her office and I was in SO MUCH PAIN! I thought it was a biopsy. Who knows!
-superficial fragments of denign endometrial tissue with inactive-type clands and abundant stroma showing progestational changes and breakthrough bleeding.
Can anyone make sense of it? I am so scared I have Cancer or pre cancer.

Thanks for your words

The Provera itself won't make you have a period. Most people take it 10-15 days and stop, and bleed 3-15 days later. You need to verify with your doctor WHY you are taking it every day. Something is not right. |

Points: 1,961.05 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,961.05 | I agree. The doctor told me taking it every day will make the lining thiner. Thing is when I bleed I end up bleeding WAY TO MUCH and end up having to go to ER. I don't know what to do.
