Default Endometriosis?

Cysters with endometriosis, I was wondering what symptoms come with endo? Where the pain is located? What other symptoms besides pain etc.? My nurse thinks I may have this but I don't want to undergo the surgery and hit yet another brick wall. It is an awful big step to take for a maybe. Thanks in advance for any reply.

I think the location of the pain can vary a bit. Sometimes your endo will be on your left side but your right side is hurting. For me, I had pain especially on my left side where my ovary is. The pain often radiated into my lower back. My left ovary was actually attached to my abdominal wall. Before my laproscopy, I was extremely fatigued due to the pain. It hurt to bend, sit, walk. From all the endo pain, my muscles in my pelvic area became extra sensitive. What I mean is the muscles would very easily become tensed and hard when I felt pain from the endo. The laproscopy was the best thing I could have done with my particular symptoms. Overall, my pain level is minimal. My muscles do tense up occasionally though. Occasional use of flexeril-muscle relaxer-does help quite a bit. Here's a link that might explain more than I can.

Everything Tigga said I'm in that catagory as well. I am in alot of pain today from the endo. I have been cryin all day long doubled over in my office. I am tired and the only thing that put me to sleep last night was my DF rubbing my tummy. My back has now pinched up, my stomach has ballooned up and with endo there is no suckin it in. Endo has caused pain while BDing or after.

Good luck and please go get the Lap done it will be the best thing you did. It only offers small time span before possibly coming back - 3 -12 months...

with endo you can have pain on either side depending where its located

i have mine under my womb on right side and right ovaray and this causes pain all over my abdomen. right side front and back , lower abd, right hip, right leg, stomach nausia bloating and extreme extreme tiredness

i had laparoscopy in jan and had endo burnt off and mirena coil fitted as a treatment for endo ( ovarian drilling for the pcos)

chances are if the doc thinks u have and recommends the lap u should have it because sometimes docs can tell u have it by scans, internal exams and symptoms but the lap confirms it and tells them exactly where it is and what severity so i would go for it and best of luck with it

Most of my pain was a dull ache on my right side/ovary. Sometimes the ache would worsen into pain and radiate into my hip and down my right leg. I wore those mentrual heating patches 24/7 on my right side and took Motrin and it helped some. That pain was almost daily. I was horribly bloated too. I also started bleeding in January and it wouldn't stop even on the pill. As time passed the worst symptom that developed was excrusiating pain when I tried to have a BM. It felt like there was a rubber band squeezing my bowels. I would end up nauseous from that pain. I had a lap done about a month ago and she cleaned all the endo out except what was on my bladder. I feel 100% better already, it was basically immediate relief. I'm on BCP's now to keep it from coming back.

Thanks cysters for all your wonderful replies. My pain is mostly on my left and sometimes my right. It gets so bad sometimes it radiates right down my legs. Sometimes it just feels like I've been kicked in the private area. I've had doctors say it is ovulation pain to bladder spasms. I'm on the pill so I don't know if that should prevent me from ovulating or for that matter getting endometriosis. I had an ultrasound show numerous follicles on each ovary (largest was 1.3 cm in diameter) and my ovaries are sligtly enlarged. It is also very painful when I have internals or transvaginal ulstrasounds done and they press on my ovaries. I almost cried when they pressed on them the last time I went in. It also hurt when they pressed back towards my rectum. My bladder always seems full and when it is the pain is even worse. I wake up nights having to use the bathroom and the pain is so intense on both the left and right side. I think that when my bladder fills it must push on my ovaries or something to that effect. My back right on my tailbone and above it will hurt like crazy too. I am always tired and I can't even begin to exercise too heavily because if I jump around too much the pain on the left is unbearable. I can't even get into our pool because as soon as I get in the cold water causes the pain to intensify. I feel like a fat, lazy slug anymore. I never experienced pain during my period but then I have been on the pill since I was 18 and only went off to have my children. I could kick myself for bragging about the fact that I never had cramps because now I have daily ones. Also I don't know if it is linked but my breasts are constantly tender all month long. My period is maybe two days long and only noticeable when I go to the bathroom. I could wear the same pad the whole two days and it wouldn't fill up. I wouldn't but I could. The blood is also brown not red and I see numerous small brown clots when I use the bathroom. Thanks again for your help ladies.

I have mine under my womb on right side and right ovaray and this causes pain all over my abdomen. right side front and back , lower abd, right hip, right leg, stomach nausia bloating and extreme extreme tiredness. I also had continuous pain. My pain lasted 6 months before we decided to do the lap. We tried bcps, progesterone (continuous). I also had steady bleeding for 6 weeks. I had heavy bleeding when I had periods. Another symptom. Huge clots too. (symptom too).

I have stage 3 endometriosis. I've just finished a 3 month dosing of zoladex, a cancer drug for prostate cancer, which also treats endometriosis. It shuts down the ovaries. It helped the pain and bloating. The bleeding stopped completely.

Good luck

I'm sorry you're having pain. The doctors suspect I also have endo specifically because of the pain I have while trying to go to the bathroom during AF. My understanding is that they usually can't see it on an ultrasound and a lap is absolutely necessary to confirm diagnosis.

You mention progesterone is that a factor in endometriosis? My blood work came back and on my 18th day of my cycle, luteal phase, my level was <0.2. I am already on BCPs and in most cases people are put on them to help it. That is one reason why I wonder if it is endo. The nurse told me it could still be endo with being on the pill but before she did the surgery (lapo) she wanted me to go to a specialist that would run tests to make sure it wasn't intestinal (sp?). I have wicked bad heartburn so bad that some times I wake up throwing up in my mouth because it is so bad but I'm not constipated or any other intestinal type problems. I do get gas but the pain is there before and after I relieve the gas issues. She also though it might be interstitial cystitis since I do always feel I have to go to the bathroom. I didn't know what that was never heard of it but it is when the lining of your bladder erodes and so everything you eat and drink can irritate it. More testing of course. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

There are a lot of women that get Intercystsal cystitis with endometriosis, so I wouldn't rule it out with that.

The ONLY way to diagnose endometriosis is with a lap. Sorry. The good thing is, it's a quick surgery, and a quick recovery.

good luck

I'm glad to hear that it is a quick surgery and a quick recovery. Did your doctor make you go and have intestinal tests done first or did they just do the lapo?

I just had some blood work done and had to pee in a cup. Otherwise, I just had the lap. I was back at work in a week. So the recovery is typically quick.

I have had similar concerns. I have had the following symptoms for several months:
menstrual cramps (always have had)
pelvic pain apart from menses
backache
fatigue
mestual diarrhea (always have had)
pinful pelvic exams
frequent urtination
low resistance to infections (have had a baterica infection for 7 months)

Does this sound like endometrosis?
Thanks for the help!
