SPECIAL RESEARCH ANNOUNCEMENT
An NICHD and NIH Conference on the topic of “Standardizing the Measurement of Pain and Diagnostic Criteria in Endometriosis” will take place on 20 October 2006 (the day before the start of the ASRM) in New Orleans, USA. The aim of this meeting is to achieve a consensus regarding the most appropriate entry criteria, outcomes and measurement tools for clinical studies assessing treatments for endometriosis associated pain. The participants will be clinicians and scientists in the fields of chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis and pain in general, and representatives from the pharmaceutical industry, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the FDA and patient advocacy groups.
