My Mood: Points: 73,008.79 Bank: 22,080.41 Total Points: 95,089.20 | The reason why is because my "gyne" has told me there is nothing more they can do for me, I have bleeding constantly and pain. ( I have endometriosis and Pcos ) I had a curette last month and it was all normal, but they didn't do any other investigating to see what is happening...
My ovaries are fine they are perfect, no cysts, but when i bleed i get cramps. They say "drs" it becasue the uterus is trying to get rid of the blood etc.. (im sure everyone has heard it)
I saw the gyn yesterday morning and he gave me options mirena , hysterectomy, or mirena or hysterectomy..
I signed the paper work for the operation because I was scared and confused about everything he told us.
I spoke to a nurse at the hosptial where I had treatment for infertitly (RBWH) and she basically said to get another opinion Im to young to have a hysterectomy.. work out my options firsts...
PLease can I have some feed back, Im scared, and don't know what to do!
thanks again, your help is appericated!

My Mood: Points: 9,817.50 Bank: 6,844.79 Total Points: 16,662.30 | Good morning ladies! This thread has been quiet this weekend! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.
I posted this on the friends thread but I am going to post it here too. My cousin found out she is pregnant a couple of weeks ago. I assumed that they had removed the IUD earlier than planned and started trying. Well, the IUD is still in and this just happened. She is at risk to lose the baby. They can't remove the IUD b/c of where the baby is. She can't take off half a day of work like the doctor wanted b/c they just got a new house and need both their incomes. Please pray that everything will be okay. This is weighing heavy on my heart, and I just want everything to work out. This cousin was my best friend when we were younger so she means a lot to me. Thanks for your prayers ladies.
I will do personals later. Good morning to everyone! Paisley, Tigga, Roz, Princess, Lee, Lil Lizzie, Jeannie, and anyone else. Sorry if I didn't get your name. |

I haven't read the whole thread so sorry if this has been discussed before......I'm curious what everyone's treatment plans are for the endo (not PCOS). My RE put me on BCP's and instructed me not to take the 4th week. So after being on Met to induce periods, I'm now on BCP's to stop them. She said I will have to be on them until menopause unless we decide to TTC again. I've been doing this for several months with no problems, but now I've been having pain again and spotting for about 3 weeks. She is thinking that my BCPs aren't strong enough. So I can go with something stronger or start Lupron injections. Blech! Any thoughts from you experienced gals??

I have done Lupron and hated it. I was in a fake menopause that had the night sweats, insomnia and weight gain. They do help with the pain though. I had barely noticeable pain when on Lupron. I have done the BCP thing too. They didn't help with pain. And I was told to take them as instructed, so I still had a cycle. I stopped the BCP about 4 months ago. The pain is still here. I am about to have my 2nd laproscopy. I had some problems stem from being on Lupron. Not everyone does. I say do a lot of research on it and short/long term effects of it. Have you been on it before? There are a lot of things that figure in. I hope that I helped a little. Maybe some of the other cysters will have better advice. Hope you feel better soon! |

The weekend was so refreshing and I hated to see it end. If I can get somethings accomplished this week then I'll feel better about work in general. I'm feeling pretty well today. Leah, Paisley, Lil Lizzie-I'm 25 but I have days in which my body feels older. (does that make sense?) I don't feel any older or younger than what I am today at least.
Lee-I'm glad you found us here. I don't blame you a bit for being scared. You are in the right place for support and a place to rant if you need to. I'd definitely get a second opinion. Try to learn all you can about your health status and the suggested treatments. If it looks like the hysterectomy is the option for you, you might check out this site: http://www.hystersisters.com/
Have you had a laproscopy to check on your endo status? I'm so sorry you are in so much pain. I hope you can find some comfort. I look forward to getting to know you better through this thread.
Leah, prayers to your cousin. Hopefully, things will work out.
Jeannie-welcome to the thread! There are a great bunch of endo cysters here and lots of great support. Well, I'm treating my endo with Seasonale right now. It's a BCP that you only have your period every three months or four times a year. It seems to help right now. I had a lap in May 2004 to diagnose and remove endo. Since the surgery, I've been in much less pain. I do deal with muscle tenseness that started with the constant pain I was in prior to the lap. I'm still dealing with the muscle pains at times. I'm hoping to begin TTC soon so I haven't really looked into lupron, etc. at this time. Definitely research and learn all you can before going with that route of treatment.
Paisley-you having a good weekend with your hubby?
Hello and I hope you are all well......Sweet Mel, Bert, princess, Mazie, Roz, and any others I may have missed. Drop in and catch up with us!
I'll lurk as I am able to.....take care!

I am going to do a quick post!
Leah, I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. Itruly hope that it works out for her. I will pray for her and you! Thank you for the gift you are such a sweetheart.
Tiggamoo, I am glad that you are loving your hair. I bet it feels wonderful, wish I had the guts to do it! I always feel older than I am!
Lee, Hi welcome to this thread! I am going to get my first Lupron injection on thursday. I am really nervous and scared about it. I would go to another doctor before I made a decision about the hysterectomy. I too have non-stop bleeding and I just had my Lap done in June. It has finally stopped for now.....but I am always paranoid that it is gonna come back! I wish you luck! I will be sure and post about my Lupron experience.
Rozlynn...........Hey girl how are you?
LIl Lizzie......where are you?
To everyone else I hope you are having a good day!

I've gotten so much attention from getting it cut this short. It was a dramatic change. I'm a bit shy so I'm having to force myself to not be. I can't hide behind my hair. I have to face things good and bad.
Leah, no problem. Prayers make a difference.
I just joined my coworkers and said goodbye to my coworker's son. He's headed to basic training with national guard. It reminds me of when my brother went. Send him some prayers. His name is Jonathan.
On another note, I had to change my gyn appointment to another day. I would be right in the middle of my period if I had kept my original appointment. The appointment is a little over a week later over into Dec. I had to adjust my ticker a little but it least it wasn't too much. I'm so wanting to begin TTC after that gyn appointment. I'm just trying to be patient for now.

You can call off the dogs now Don't have a whole lot of time, so I'll do personals later...My doc wanted me to do Lupron last summer, or Clomid. I jumped at the clomid. The thought of my body going through fake menopause scared the crap outta me. I mean, I already took bcp that messed with my body, and that's why i'm in this stupid mess! I have yet to hear a happy lupron story...especially when you need to do like months of that craziness...no thanks. Hopefully I'll be back not too much later
