Default epilator

hi can anyone tell me if epilators are any good, or what any other good hair removal techniques are.i just seem to get more and more hair and its getting to the stage i dont want to go out,my whole body is hairy especially breasts and tummy,i wax my tummy but the hairs on my breasts ive no idea what to do at the moment im using scissors,my facial hair keeps getting worse i have bad sideburns which i try to bleach but the bleach isnt taking well anymore my peach fuzz has got longer and more noticeable and im getting a few thick black hairs on my cheeks which keep getting worse. i cant wax as i couldnt bear waiting for all the hair to grow back between waxings and cant shave as i come out all pimply and rash. im trying to ttc with fertility treatment so i cant go for laser etc at the moment and will laser treatment work for pcos? would an epilator be of any use or will it be like all these other gimmicks that promise to banish hair?please help im so depressed with this and the ttc.ive just read the opther thread and i realise its just hair but its truly taking over my life

Epilators work very well. Not a gimmick. I use mine on my legs - it's awesome, and I stay hair-free for weeks

It's painful but worth it. (I don't believe that there is such a thing as a pain-free epilator)

It doesn't hurt me, anymore. Plus the hair seems to be growing in finer on my legs...

I have the Braun Silk-Epil like Kat has. I love it. It does get less painful with time. I use mine under my arms (probably the most painful place I have used it), my legs, and my face. I just make sure I hold the skin on my face very tightly with one hand to keep from pinching my skin. The hair will eventually grow in finer. The good thing about the Silk-Epil is that it comes with 2 attachments. One is for beginners and doesn't pull out as many hairs. Then you can move on to the regular attachment. I am also ttc and was worried about using depilatories on my facial hair.

Good advice! That also helps the epilator get a good grip on the hair to make sure it pulls from the root.

But... does the hair come back coarser? My friend, who doesn't have issues with excess hair, just very solid growth on legs, swears it comes back FINER than before. Also, she claims some of her hairfollicles die after she's epilated them meny times?

Biloline - the hair definitely comes back finer. I almost immediately noticed a difference under my arms. The hair grows back soft, not prickly like it used to be. The hair on my upper lip and chin is more blonde than dark as it grows in. I've only been using it a few months. Plus I was unable to use it for 3 weeks and had to go back to shaving after Hurricane Rita because we were without electricity for 3 whole weeks!

I use an epilator on my chin hairs. I'm not as hairy as some here, but I like it. Mine is an Emjoi Gold.

I got my Braun Silk-Epil at Bed Bath & Beyond. I had a 20% off coupon and saved $11 or $12. I'm sure Linens & Things would have them too and they usually have the coupons also.
