Angry Epilator not working!

I'm SOOO frustrated!!!

I just bought an epilator today with such hopes that it could help me with my facial hair. I purchased an Emjoi Chic and got it home to test - only to have total failure! It will not pluck any hairs on my face at all. I exfoliated, held a warm washcloth over the area, but I guess the hairs are too short from shaving/plucking this morning.

It did work on leg hair (which was longer hair; sorry for TMI) but not on the face at all!
Please, please, please - tell me what I'm doing wrong!?!
Should I buy another model? I've read all the other posts/stickies etc. and see that the Braun is highly reccommended - but before I invest in another one I wanted to ask - does the facial hair have to be long for it to be able to work?

I'm feeling so desperate right now - I want to cry. I'm so sick of this facial hair crap!! Also - I've started Spiro - been on it for about a week, and I'm worried the dosage is too low - my rx is for 25 mg a day.

Any advise or sharing would be much appreciated!

Don't buy another model, I have an emjoi and its great.
Is yours specifically a facial epilator? You can get ones designed especially for the face, I believe they aren't as wide and they might be more effective.
I know as horrible as it sounds, you might want to let your facial hair grow out a bit and then try epilating. Perhaps try it on a weekend or holiday when you know you wont see to many people? lol
I have been using an epilator on my legs and underarms for almost 4 years now and I would consider the hairs in those areas to be as wispy or even better than someone with 'regular' hair growth. I love it so much, and its saved me so much money in razors!
Also with the spiro, I could be wrong, but I believe it can cause people side effects such as water retention? Perhaps your doctor is being cautious with dosage as its a long-term drug (ie have to be on it for a few months before you see results) and there will be plenty of time to increase the dosage.

I agree with Februarystar about the Emjoi. I used to have one eons ago, and it worked very well. But the hair had to be grown out some. It seems like you shaved and plucked the morning of, so it probably wouldn't work if there was not hair for it to get a hold of.
