Default Epilator vs Waxing

I remove my unwanted hair by waxing. I never got the real deal on epilator. Has anyone used this method to remove unwanted hair?

I purchased one a few months ago. So far, I love it. The new ones are sooo much better than those torture devices of the 80's. It really does help the hair to come back slower and finer. More so than waxing in my case. The downsides, where the hair is more dense and coarse, it can be painful. For me, epilating my upper thighs is really painful. I also think it might have to do with my skin being a bit more fatty and not so firm in that area. I do find it to be a bit much for the face as well. It causes irritation there. I do give it a big thumbs up for body hair removal. I use the Braun Silk-Epil.

I love it I love it I love it!

Its not as messy as waxing, the hair doesn't have to be very long, and I find if do a few minutes touchups every couple of days I'm never worried about the hairs on my legs/underarms. Its definately made me more confident.

Also like the pp, my upper thighs are the worst but I'm slowly working my way up. I started my bikini line and it wasn't as sore as I thought so I will do that again sometime too!

Ok cool...so epilator is better than waxing? Is your skin just as smooth? Thanks!

A lot of people can't stand the pain of epilating, I guess they'd rather have the pain all in one hit with waxing. But after the 2nd or 3rd time its not that painful anymore.
And even when the hairs have grown back, they're much thinner and softer so it still feels smooth!

SWEET!

I use this creme called "No Scream Cream" when I get wax. It takes the edge off. Maybe I can use it when epilating. Thanks for the info!!!

Default I use an epilator

I bought an emjoi gold epilator to do my chest area. It was taking too long to pluck and I dont like the mess of waxing. It is not the most comfortable thing in the world but its livable. I dont use it on my face cause I heard that you need a special more gentle brand of epilator to use on your face. It causes extreme irritation and could cause falliculitis. Anyhoo I do not regret getting mine. For the same amount of time I could shave, now I can epilate and it stays hair free for much longer!!!!!

I don't have much hair on my face to remove, just the odd one here and there so i tweeze them out.
I know they make a facial one but can't see it on their site at the moment. (www.emjoi.com) Maybe it was an NZ only product? Although I don't know why that would be.

i used to wax all the time and it can cost a lot of money and doing it at home is akward at times. So i purchesed and emjoi epilator and i will never go back to waxing my legs and tummy area again. Ive waxed for years so the pain wasnt so bad for me when first using the epilator and i find it way more convenient.

i use brown silk epil and also waxed for a while....lets make a comparison
epilator-
1.great for underarm hair
2.causes ingrown hair which luk worse than actual hair
3.speed can not be set slower than waxing
4.i use it on my face too chin, upperlips virtually painless.
5.its not pain free hurts alot.
waxing
1.sticky
2.need to grow hair atleast 5 mm
3.not gud for underarms
4.costeffective if u make ur own wax
5.gives smooth finish

I have a Braun Silk Epil Xelle with no special attachment for facial area, but I still use it on my face and I love the results. I have had electrolysis and laser hair removal on my face with some decent results but still some facial hair and was tired of shaving every day. The pain is not as bad a electroysis or laser. Its not even pain really, more like a discomfort.
