Anyone use/own an epilator? My pain threshold is pretty high, so I thought about trying this until I can afford laser in some areas? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks
Oh and if you don't mind... what brand/type is effective that you use?!

I am hoping you won't be bummed from this post but I tried an epilator and I felt as though the results were the same as from shaving.....I think that waxing has given me the best results......
I know that everyone has different results...so maybe an epilator would be amazing for you...and if you try one I hope that is the case!
The epilator was not all that painful....you got used to it after a while....and your face numbs up to it after using it for a while...
I really hope you get nice results! Let us know how it goes....

My epilator is everything I could wish for in cheap effective hair removal!
Legs aren't too painful, armpits were HORRIBLE the first time but now its great, the hairs have thinned and I dont get that shadow from shaving because the hair is lighter and I dont see it under the skin anymore. I tried my bikini line but I think I may need a glass or two of wine before I tackle that one again!
I dont know about facial hair removal, I only have a couple of hairs on my face that bother me so I pluck them.

I just got an epilator today...I'll let you know how the finished product feels for me. I tried a few minutes, but since I have sensitive skin hubby told me to stop and wait until I could use the gel pack first (I guess that will help reduce the redness I'm bound to have at first

Ok, I just ordered an epilator from Amazon... its a bday present to I can't try it until October though... I would love to hear more reviews from cysters who have tried them! My biggest problem area is my legs, that hair grows so fast I could shave twice a day!

Ive been using an epilator on my legs for the past 3 months and I love it! However it does still hurt but I can put up with the pain. I hated shaving because I always managed to cut myself with them and have some scars now =( and I had to shave about every other day, now I only need to epilate about once a week and even if I leave it longer than that the hairs arent as noticable anymore as they have thinned out. I'd love to use it on my underarms but im too scared!
Mines a Philips HP6461 Satinelle Massage Epilator, I took the massage attachment off though because to be honest it didnt do anything to help the pain of it and I didnt like the vibrating feeling on my legs! Plus now its a whole lot quieter lol. It works well however I do have to go over the same area a couple of times to make sure that all the hair is gone.
I have an (old) Braun silk-epil, and an Epilady. Love them both! Arm pits are painful, but bearable. Legs are no problem. Bikini zone, well, up to a certaain point, i.e. where the legs stop, it's painful but with a glass of wine (make that scotch) I can manage. Any higher and I am sorry - I am shaving there! LOL
I use it also on my chin, but I also use tweezers, I can snatch hairs that are too short for the epilator that way.
I much prefer this to waxing (too messy) or shaving (way too much work every day, I don't have that kind of time). The hair does get thinner, softer and more sparse over time - at least it does on my legs. I recommend it.
