Epsom salt is used in a liver cleanse/gall bladder flush. It is part of a recipe to help flush gall stones out of the gall bladder and liver. The epsom salt is Magnesium sulfate, which relaxes smooth muscles, like those of the gall bladder (and the uterus; magnesium sulfate is often used to stop preterm labor). Included in the recipe is olive oil, which stimulates the release of bile from the gall bladder, so while the smooth muscles are relaxed, the release of bile can flush the stones out.
If you are interested in getting a copy of a recipe for this type of liver flush, send me an email, and I will email you a copy of the one that I have.
