2 years ago, we lost our little boy Eric James. We miss him so much, but we know he's happy with God.
After I had Eric, I felt like I lost him because I didn't deserve him. I was a crappy housekeeper, a not-so-great wife, and just miserable. I felt like he was taken away because I wasn't ready. Now I know he was sent here to help me understand myself better, and teach me a few things. I've made it a mission to be a better person since I had him.
I'm a happier and less anxious. I drive now, and I was petrified of driving before. I found an awesome church only because I had Eric. I think I'm a better mommy to our second son because I had Eric.
I still have a long way to go, but I'm working on it. I figure I have about 50 years to improve myself before I see Eric again!
Happy birthday sweet baby boy. I wish you didn't have to leave us, but I won't let your life not matter. I will tell people about you, and be a better person because of you. Your life will matter. Thank you so much for letting me be your mommy.

I cried when I read your post... not that it takes much to make me cry these days but ... I can empathize with you so much. I won't let my little guy's life not matter, either. It's the best thing we can do for them now.

Happy belated birthday Eric. I'm sorry I haven't been on this thread in a while, I feel bad I couldn't wish your sweet little baby well on his day.

I've been going thru a lot with Elisa this week so that's why I've been kinda MIA. Today she had the hearing test that we've been waiting for for over a year. We unfortunately found out that it' worse than we thought. I'm heartbroken. My little girl as a moderate to severe hearing loss (we thought it was only mild to moderate based on earlier, less accurate tests). She is being fitted for some hearing aids and she will have a cat scan done on her ears to see if there is a structural problem that is causing the deafness.
Wow on top of everything else the poor child has to endure. I feel so bad because I really thought the ear tubes were helping her to hear better. I was using sign language less, thinking she could hear me. I feel really dumb. And now not surprised at all that her communication skills are only at 4 months or so (she's two years old).
