Thumbs up Essential Books on PCOS

Medifocus PCOS Guide

When you get to the main page, search on "polycystic ovary syndrome". MAKE SURE YOU TYPE OVARY AND NOT OVARIAN...

The guide is close to 200 pages with TONS of research, and an international PCOS physician listing.

Your personal doctor should have a copy, too, because it breaks down all of the various research topics like clomid & pcos, metformin & pcos, pregnancy & pcos, etc...

Did I mention that this is a MUST HAVE - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOWNLOADING THIS FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR DOCTOR!

****

PCOS: The Hidden Epidemic - CLICK HERE!
by: Dr Samuel Thatcher - Excellent book! Many of the cysters on the Message board actually go to Dr Thatcher for treatment. I refer to it all the time when I have a question.

****

PCOS: A Woman's Guide to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome - CLICK HERE!
by: Colette Harris - Colette is a UK cyster who works as a writer for health magazines. In this, the first book out on PCOS, she writes about her experience dealing with PCOS. She offers detailed explanations of what is going on in our bodies...

****

Living with PCOS - CLICK HERE!
by: Angie Best-Boss - Angie is also a cyster. In this lovely book she details her experience, and offer very easy to understand explanations of the various treatments available. Her section on "herbal remedies" is especially good.

****

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome - CLICK HERE!
by: Gabor T. Kovacs - This book is actually for clinicians, so it is a bit pricey. That said, it provides a guide to the diagnosis of the syndrome, its etiology, pathology, and effective medical management. Focuses on the syndrome's role in infertility and the use of new assisted reproductive technologies to overcome this problem.

Smile Your guide to Book is Fantastic

Hi kat

I just wanted to thank you for these recommendations, I have recently obtained a copy of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome by: Gabor T Kovacs.

It provides a guide to diagnosis and covers pretty much about everything.

I have also ordered The Hidden Epidemic and Living with PCOS.

Thank you

Question PCOS: A Womans Guide to Polycystic Ovary

I have just started PCOS: A Womans Guide to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome by Colette Harris & Adam Carey. I'll let you know how I get on.

She has also got another book out called The PCOS Diet Book(How you can use a nutritional approach to deal with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) which also has a lot of good and positive reviews.

Has any one read these?

I havent read either of those. I did read however. Living with PCOS. I really liked that book because I was having problems undertanding a lot of what I was reading. Once I started reading that book it was easy for me to understand and they explained so many things in good detail and had some pictures. I have the PCOS hidden epidemic book. I have read some of it and so far it is an excellent book. I highly reccomend it.

love,
Sarah

Default It's my OVaries Stupid

I just had to chime on on "..Ovaries Stupid". This book provided a wealth of info. It was information in this book that helped me know exactly what to expect, ask and demand from my doctors. I also have Women, Weight, and Hormones by the same author. It has valuable info on how and what to eat.

What the book is saying from what i have gatherd is to eat corretly cut out the bad foods and excerise as well as including the other remiedies , and i am going to try so hard to do this not only for myself but for my parnter .

I just checked out "It's My Ovaries, Stupid!" from the library. I've just barely cracked it and I can already tell it's FULL of info! (And you gotta love that title!)

Has anyone read "Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: Fighting Back" by Angela Kay Dotson or "A Guide to the Polycystic Ovary: It's Effect on Health and Fertility" by Gabor Kavacs?
