Default estrogen dominance-taking some action!

eehaw! I think I got it-I took matters into my own hands because I know my body-I've been surfing and saw this:
http://www.ovarian-cysts-pcos.com/es...dominance.html
I am really, really sick of my boobs being so sore, and now I have gained about 7 pounds since starting Effexor--but it's my own fault too, I am going to start some estrogen dominance 'food changes' and start exercising again to countreract the PCOS and the Effexor. It is really miserable feeling like my boobs are basketballs, and I'm not kidding-lol-it is so uncomfortable. So I did some reading and found a lot of info on this whole estrogen dominance-lack of progesterone thing. Ever since I went on that med Accutane in high school for my acne, my progesterone levels have been at an all time low, and I wonder why docs don't look at this more closely, it's always, "here's the bc pill, yada yada yada" erm, uh, guess we have to be proactive to the hilt--and if it helps then no whining here
Hope this can help another cyster who suffers from the same thing I do.

This link has some more solutions, but geared toward menopausal women, but I'm not menopausal and I do have the symptoms:
http://www.drnorthrup.com/menopause-5.php#tenderness

Now....to get it all together and take action to find the solution to feeling more comfortable!!!!

Argh!

That's interesting you mention that about Accutane, because I just got off of that medication in Feb. and have suspected that it further screwed my hormones up. I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS, but I kind of stumbled into all the info. and everything fit. I'm really ticked off that my dermatologist or even my regular doctor wouldn't have recommended testing my hormone levels before giving me the Accutane.

I have been using a natural progesterone cream for the last two months (along with good vitamins and supplements) and it seems like it might be having some effect....less hair on face, less depression, more manageable weight (and of course, no acne, but I attribute that to the Accutane). Has your acne ever returned since you did the course in high school? Have you tried the cream?

2% Progesterone cream rubbed on the skin is one way to boost progesterone I read, I'm buyng some today. I believe it will help. My acne never returned as severe as it was in high school. I had those sore Mt. Rushmore pimples all over my jawline and they hurt. I still get a pimple here and there, but the Accutane did help. I didn't do the full course of treatment, and ever since then, I suffered from hormonal problems, and some depression, things I never suffered from before taking the Accutane, but I'm sure there were other factors-looking back. I know it says not to get pregnant while taking that med, but yeah, I agree, I think the docs now need to be aware of more than just listening to our breathing.
