Default Etonogestrol

Desogestrel is rapidly and almost completely absorbed and converted into etonogestrel, its biologically
active metabolite. Following oral administration, the relative bioavailability of desogestrel, as measured
by serum levels of etonogestrel, is approximately 84%.

I cut and paste this from the pdf on the desogen site. This confuses me because Desogen is supposed to be one of the least androgen producing BCP.
However, etonogestel is the hormone found in nuvaring which I thought wasn't that great as far as being androgen producing was concerned. Does the conversion lessen the androgens or am I just misinformed about this? Does anyone know of previous threads addressing this issue?
