Talking Eurovision!!!!!!!!!!!

Any one else love eurovison?

It was great last night. Me and my other half spent the night drinking and then tried a eurovision drinking game. I was very very drunk and it was all greece's fault! We had to pick a country we thought would get the least points and when they did get points we had to down a shot. I picked greece and was silly to forget that cyprus always gives greece 12 points.

My head hurts!

Actually, Malta came second, I wanted them to win, but no luck.

I watched the whole thing, do every year. Mainly because Terry Wogan is always SO funny,. Its a good night in and a good laugh.

We came joint third with france, not a bad result.

Question Very confused!

Well just to throw a spanner in the works...

MSN told me who had won what (as I posted above) and then Kyl said I was wrong.

Just looked on the official site:

http://www.eurovision.tv

They say Latvia came 1st, didn't say who came 2nd and that UK and Estonia tied for 3rd and 4th place!

Anyone shed any light on who actually did win what

I am keeping my trap shut now before I confuse myself!

I only watched the results last night coz we'd been watching Big Brother and as usual, I got really angry. It's not a song contest any more, it's hey, let's vote for our neighbour, you scratch our back and give us 12 points and we'll do the same. It's a joke that Greece and Cyprus are allowed to give each other 12 points every damn year! Ok rant over Apart from that tho, I enjoyed it lol.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! I haven't got a telly, and I couldn't go round to anyone's place to watch it like I did last year because I am the only one I know who actually likes it who lives in my area...I am NOT a happy bunny, I am a Eurovision freak, it was the first time since 1994 that I missed it. Usually my sister and I sit and watch it and take the mickey and give our own points, and compare them with what actually got awarded, and shout at the telly....
anyone know what place Israel ended up in?
hugs
Shira
ps does anyone remember Guildo from the 98 competition...the German guy who ran into the audience, and climbed all over the set?

I remember Guildo. He was great, I voted for him and was very upset when he didn't win.

As far as I can remember Israel did quiet well, i think they were in the top 15 at least which means they are back next year.

I am the only one of my mates that likes eurovision and the only reason my other half agreed to watch with me is because I promised to watch SOME of the world cup 9little does he know i will probably time shopping around these important fixtures)

Hi
I watch Eurovision every year and living in Greece I was totally shamed by the song. It was completely ridiculed here though...apparently it was fixed..now there's a surprise! as for the 12 points from Cyprus....well that's an institution and if that were to change Eurovision wouldn't be the same.
Oh yes, loved Guildo from 98...that was a good year. i wanted Slovenia to win...the airhostesses were something else. Also have to admit there was a repeat on the Sunday and I watched it again!

I too saw it. I promise myself every year i am not going to watch it. Terry Wogan is just so funny though. He slags off EVERYTHING! Totally worth it just for him!

I promise myself I wont watch it next year (i know that i will though....)

Come on Britain - let's win next year so we can host it in our country!
