i heard on a radio show that if you breath in really short, shallow, fast breaths that you raise your seritonin. Is that true? has anyone else heard this?

sounds kinda strange to me....

I would think that if you're breathing really rapidly, like you would in a panic situation, that you *cortisol* would rise.

Hmm, I have to agree. Sounds odd to me too as I've always heard you need to take deep breaths to get oxygen in your cells to make them work correctly. Interesting thought though. Do you know where you heard it? If it was written, could you post the article or the link?

this could be totally in my head but I was feeling really crap about my sorta bf and I started crying, felt crappy overall and did the short breath thing and it seemed to help. But who knows!
