Default Ever heard of Dr. Ronald Feinburg??

Hey ladies,

I live in Delaware and have an appointment scheduled with Dr. Feinburg on June 26th. I am pretty excited about this appointment and even more excited since I fond out that he wrote the book called "Healing Syndrome O" which is a book that is for PCOS and Insulin related hormonal imbalances. That leads me to believe that he knows a bit about PCOS.

I am just wondering if anyone else has heard of him, been treated by him and what was the outcome.

Thanks in advance.

Jenn, The book is excellent!!! I wouldn't wait to read it. The book is what made me realize that my doctors were not helping me (boy, was I ticked by the time I finished the book) and that I need to SERIOUSLY focus on diet and exercise. The book is why I am so adament about someone really evaluating and treating my PCOS - I think if I get the PCOS controlled then ttc should not be such a problem.

You are very fortunate to have access to such an excellent doctor!!!!!!

Default Treated by Dr. Feinberg

I'm more of a lurker here on the boards, but when I saw Dr. Feinberg's name I had to post. I was treated by him and now have happy and healthy 5 month old boy/girl twins. I ended up doing IVF as I had two ectopic pregancies and lost both tubes, but his office is wonderful. I would highly recommend them. Let me know if you have any questions.

Good Luck with your appointment!

Michelle,

Thank you SO MUCH for your information. I am praying that Ill get my BFP this cycle and wont need to meet Dr. Feinburg so soon. However, I am am now even more ever excited then I was after reading your post. Were there any other treatments that you tried previous to the IVF? Did you go the Christiana Campus or Dover facilities? I live near Dover, but work in the wilmington area!

Congrats on your twins.

I was with Dr. Feinberg's office for a while. I tried clomid but that did not work for me, so I went onto injectibles and IUI, we had two pregnancies but they were both ectopic, so we had to start back at square one with IVF, but we were lucky enough to get twins on our first cycle. They were wonderful with dealing with my PCOS and always had positive thoughts even though I seemed to be striking out with my ectopics. They kept me going through everything. I always went to the Christiania location as it is closer to where I am.

Ok Thanks.

I have a issue with my weight, do you think that Dr. Feinburg will hound that fact before we move onto whatever treatments may be neccesary?

When I first started treatments, I was over 200, by starting met and a PCOS friendly diet I was down to 160 when I became pregnant. I'm not sure if loosing the weight helped, but I certainly felt so much better.

That is where I am at now, over 200. Boy I would love to see the day for 160. What mg of Met did Dr Feinburg have ytou on and did he give you the diet or did you do like "insulin resistance" diet?

I was on 1500 mg of met. I made up my diet by reading his book and other books on PCOS. I basically did not eat any processed foods except dairy. At the grocery store I just shopped the perimeter. I allowed myself to have fruits, veggies, meats and dairy. On occassion I would have wheat bread. I definetly had my "cheat" days to stay sane, but it worked pretty well for me. I am struggling now to get back on a diet and loose my weight again. I just can't seem to get the motivation to eat right.

Michelle, yea I am on 1000mg of met right now - I think that Dr. Feinburg might pur me up to 1500, because I have heard that we response best to that amount a day far as weight loss and regulating cycle. That sounds like an awesome idea to "sop the perimieters" I am all over them isles in the grocery store and I think that might be some of my downfall. Thanks for that tidbit of info hun.

Once I go to Dr. Feinburg and see what his regiment for me is.. I would like to start a weight loss buddy group for me and you, since we are both in Delaware maybe it will help keep us motivated. Then like when we lose our goal weight or reach certain marks like 15, 25, 50 - You get the point. We could meet for lunch or something. Just a thought.....

Trust me, for me and my hubby it will be the best thing ever as he is a diabetic and lord knows we NEED to for the better of both of us change our eating habits in the house.
