Refined sugar I S bad for us, but it doesn't cause a multitude of diseases from endo. cancer to MS. There are many disesase we still don't know the cause of and pointing the finger at any one substance right now is not responsible behaviour for a doctor. Just knowing dropping my refined sugar intake will help prevent diabetes is enough for me!

She is not a medical doctor, so keep that in mind also. |

Hate to say it, but the woman may just be going on resources that have already been out and about and wanted to take up a hobby, possibly claiming it....*shrugs* |

If you want to you can say to stop breathing because there are harmful chemicals that you can breathe in. Years ago there was the whole *stay away from eggs* and researchers have figured out now that they really aren't all that bad- but actually good for us. Besides- I plan only to live once and it might as well be a very enjoyable life.
Paula, I am glad you feel better without the sugar. |

Our bodies DO need sugar. It's the overdose of it that can be harmful. Also, keep in mind there is natural sugar!! Sugar from fruits and milk are good for us in moderate amounts. I don't give this website any credibility.

Every now and again I'll have a cup of coffee with normal sugar in it, but on the whole I use frustose, which is a fruit sugar. It breaks down more slowly in your bosy than cane sugar and therefore is better for you. Again within moderation. |

| I am glad someone else thinks like that. I was starting to think what doesn't sugar cause. It seems that the list is saying if you ban sugar then you won't have any health problems at all, but what about people who are born diabetic or with asthma. Also, I have limited the sugar my kids consume and my son has asthma, but not my daughters. What would that mean? |

I am always more willing to read something that I can see has at least some legit sources (ie. real medical journals)

I'm a Special Ed teacher and am going for my Master's right now and we just did a lesson on asthma in kids. Asthma is caused either before birth (genetic) or by environmental instances. The number one cause of asthma in kids is their exposure to cigarette smoke! Sugar was not mentioned as a cause.
