If I have EWCM during/after BD, is that a sign of O or is that just a body's natural response regardless of O? Do I need to have spontaneous EWCM to signal O? I'm a little confused. Also, I would like to start tempting- how much is a basal therm?
I got my thermometer at Target for $9. The only difference between a regular and a basal is that it reads two decimal points.
Your body will produce EWCM before O to provide a good medium for the spermies to get the egg. If you don't notice a lot of EWCM you can also use pre-seed to help.

good question: i took Clomid last month and am waiting on O and dont have much CM. Although, when getting "friskey" with DH, I notice CM that is egg-white in consistency. But this is only noticed when BD and not spontaneously. So, i'm not sure if that counts or not. I think you have to have spontaneous EWCM to signal O.

From what I understand, you're not supposed to check while you're "aroused" or after bd. Actually, the best time to check is supposed to be after a bowel movement.

If you only get the fluid when "frisky", that is probably arousal fluid. Not all women produce EWCM. I'm using Pre-Seed to help with CM.

Ya know, I can't remember why after a bowel movement.....I just remember reading it at some point in all my hours of research about cm. I have noticed in the two documented times I've o'd, that after a bm, it does seem easier to check, like there's more of it..? Idk...weird and tmi, but whatever works!

Probably all the general pushing from a BM pushes a little more out of the cervix?? Thanks for the input... kind of a bummer since I was a little excited, but good to know lol. I will def be investing in a basal therm soon. Who would've thought it would be such an experience just to pop out a baby! They def never included any of this is our informational "talks" in school! I think it's a shame we are all pretty stupid about our fertility until it's a problem- I guess I should speak for myself. I'm in the health care profession too, so you would think the anat and phys classes would cover much of this, but not really.
