I highly recommend Dr. Cristina Mata an Endocrinologist with the Holy Cross Medical Group in Fort Lauderdale. I have seen her for 3 years now and she is not afraid to tell me like it is or to take time and listen. From the first appointment she immediately diagnosed me as having Metabolic Syndrome then after a few months of experimenting with meds upgraded my diagnosis to PCOS. We are still experimenting with drug mixtures and dosages but she is as determined as I am to get it right. Meds taken have included; Glucophage XR, Metformin, Provera, Synthroid, and now Actos. She also has me monitoring my sugar levels when I have "bad" days. She is completely supportive when I say I don't want to take BC, and always gives me options.

I live in Ft. Lauderdale and will be getting new med insurance next month - I just checked, and she is on my plan. (She was the only one in the area, actually!)
