Default Excercise while ttc?

Last year I was going to a gym regularly and working out pretty hard. I did kickboxing, aerobics, indoor bicycling, and all the cardio machines. Plus some weights.

I'm not going to the gym anymore because I heard that you shouldn't work out too hard if you're trying to conceive. But I feel like I should be doing some sort of excercise. Should I just walk lightly on the treadmill or something? What did you all do when you were ttc or pregnant?

Thanks in advance!

I keep up a challenging work-out routine: cardio (elliptical machine), weights, stretching, plus some yoga. Would like to start kick-boxing and a few other things. I think it's ok - I just don't let my heartrate get over 170.

When I get into my IVF protocol, though, I'm planning to scale it all back to just do walking and light yoga until it's over.

I think it's ok, too, if you keep up your regular work-out routine, as long as you don't overdo it. Maybe it's best to ask your doctor and/or read a few TTC books to see what they suggest.

Hth!

in traditional chinese medicine they don't recommend heavy exercise while TTC. They say an hour of walking a day and something like chi gong or yoga too. I just started doing 1 hour of walking everyday instead of running. I've also added a chi gong exercise routine that is in the book "The Tao of Fertlity".

Kristy: I guess I really need to read that book! My TCM guy said that my exercise was fine, so I'll double-check with him next time.

It is a really good book and a super easy read. I highly recommend it!
