Question Excess dead skin cells on face?

I have no idea if this has anything to do with pcos or not so bear with me. About two years ago my face got a weird dry patch of skin on it - it was a bit rougher and a little odd looking. Facial scrubs worked a bit - and so did lotion at night. Then of course with pcos my face is oiler than normal. Not a problem - I can get used to that. However over the course of the two years that weird patch of skin has spread over most of my face and even on one ear. It is rough looking and it appears as if all my pores are closed - but not with black or whiteheads. If I use a gentle scrub it's "better" - but not great. It's starting to spread over an eyelid now and I'm concerned. I want to see a Dr. but I've been to a dr. lately for so many other things and this seems almost minor in some ways. However it is also affecting the skin on my shoulders - not sure why - but it's been there for about two years also. I've looked at many dermatological websites - and nothing comes close to describing it - it's not rosacea or seborrhoea although that's closer - but that's not it either. I've looked at all the pics at these sites too - nothing matches.
Does anyone have the same problem or know of anyone who does? Please if anyone knows anything let me know - I prefer to gather as much info as I can BEFORE I go to a dr. - dr.'s now just push pills and creams without really trying to diagnose - at least they do in the area i live in.
Thanks

Thumbs up Not sure

Thank you for your response - I did look up psoriasis also. I found a great dermatological website from New Zealand of all places. They had pictures of every skin condition they described on their website - but they didn't have all the skin conditions listed. I looked at the pictures of psoriasis - and it doesn't look like that at all. Sebborhoea (sp?) is about the closest - but even that doesn't quite fit.

My face seems to have a "mask" effect on it - and you can't tell until you get into good light and you are looking at me up close. Most of the pores are completely closed. It doesn't itch - it's not red - and there are no silvery scales.

I don't know - I'm just hoping that someone will have something close to it - although I'll feel bad for them- I'll know that I'm not the only one and hopefully they found out something from a Dr.

Thanks again for the response.

I'm sorry I don't have anything like that. If you have a good Derm they can be a huge help
