Default Excess Hairs

Hi,

I am 105 pounds at 5 feet 2. My main PCOS concern is the excess hairs. As I am not overweight and losing weight is not an option, I would really appreciate hearing about your suggestions on how to manage the excess hairs.

I low carb and exercise quite regularly. Are there any other ways that I can try? Thank you for your recomendations.

Hi There!!! I totally understand how you feel about the excess hairs. I just bleach (jolean brand) and pluck. I'm really only concerned about face, chest and belly button area. I shave my legs of course. I'm afraid to shave anything else for fear of the regrowth situation. It seems a lot of people on this board do shave other areas, but way to scary for me to start that.

hope that helps a little.

Hi, I am not thin now , but I used to be. I had chin hairs from age 15 and was a healthy weight. The more weight I gained the worse my hair problem got. I am taking met now and it is helping with the hair.My theory is that I was producing too much insulin when I was a teen and it just got worse and caused more hair to grow. Maybe you should try met or IR diet.

have you tried the alternative remedies? Saw Palmetto is meant to be good (although i've been taking it for around 2 months now and haven't noticed a difference - i think i'm taking the wrong sort). Have a look on the 'alternative remedies' forum.

Just off to pluck my chin...

hi joanne,

thanks for getting back to me. i tried diane 35 for a month but it didn't work for me. it made me gain close to 15 pounds and made me cry constantly - due to the estrogen. i am wondering if you have tried any natural methods such as altering your diet to cut out carbs and sugar etc.
