Default Excess sweating in groin area?

I know this is gross, but I sweat profusely in the groin area. My underwear and pants always feel damp. Sometimes I even leave wet spots behind when I sit. I don't smell so great either. This is very embarrassing. I know I should go to the Dr. but I've been there complaining so much lately (just recently diagnosed) I'm sure she thinks i'm a hypochondriac! Anyone one else have this problem? Any one have any suggestions?
Thanks

You sound like you might have yeast infection. Women with yeast infection usually have a smelly discharge and well, I've never really heard of sweating from down there. I've also read that PCOS women are more acidic than normal women, so it might be harmless. Just incase, you should talk to your doc again. Women with PCOS are more likely to get yeast infection so its completely normal for you to complain! And if you dont have an infection? I suggest thin pads (panty liners?).

I thought I was sweating down there too but I found out my bladder is just bad and it is urine sometimes coming out. I use panty liners.

i feel that way too sometimes. it's uncomfortable and warm and moist and you can't help it. i also sometimes find that when i feel that way, i also get very raw and red and sore in the creases of my skin where my leg attaches to my hip(on the inside). Sometimes I soak in a hot bath or take a shower as hot as I can stand it to wash off the sweat or whatever it is that is irritating my skin so much. It's still sore sfter that, but if i dry it off very very well after getting out of the shower, i usually feel a little better. (until the next time it happens, of course!)

Oh my GOSH!!!! I have those sore spots that form in the inside of my thighs when it stays moist down there and it is SOO painful!! I haven't found anything to help that. I try to keep that from happening with the panty liners but it still sometimes does ita nd man it hurts!

I haven't found any brilliant solution. I sweat a lot in that area too. It's not discharge or urine. When I wear a panty liner sometimes I'll find I'm sweaty enough that the sides and underneath of the crotch of my knickers are wet, but not through the panty liner or anything. (blushing)

My best solutions so far have been to try to sit with my legs not quite together, cotton/loose fitting clothes around the area and avoiding skirts generally. When it gets sweaty and my legs are bare my inner thighs can get really sore and painful. Of course, thinner thighs would really help me there.

I have this too, also under my breasts. It can be quite sticky and really raw; I believe it's called intertrigo and the only way to deal with it is to keep the area as clean and dry as possible--unscented soaps or washes-- maybe a little medicated baby powder and try to keep the skin surfaces apart with a little pad of clean cotton or gauze.

Hi there fellow Canuck,

I have this issue too...worst in the Summer. It's sweat, not yeast infection or anything like that. It happens to the best of us. I use a powder I had recommended from the pharmacist at the local drug store. Cheap and effective. I use the house brand but I'm sure if you ask at the pharmacy they can help. I suggest the less embarassing approach of "My mom/dad has issues with sweat in their thigh and under arms and breasts...do you have any suggestions?"

Good luck and completely understand.

Oh... my... I'm glad I'm not alone with this one.
I've used some of the above solutions with varying degrees of results. One morning it was so bad! I showered, dried off and I was STILL WET there. I was sick and tired of that "diaper rash" type feel with panty irritation. So literally I said *&%$ it snagged my hair dryer and it worked! All dry for at least a reasonable amount of time.

Now when I'm feeling a bit moist in that region a quick low dry for just a few minutes and I'm feeling fresher.

I have always been sweaty down there. It is gross. My butt sweats too. In the summer I use Shower to Shower Sport, a little in my panties. It helps. I generally sweat alot. I use Dove on my underarms and have no problems. It has been the best thing so far.

I also sweat a lot between my legs and it smells like BO - is definitely sweat, not urine or yeast infection or anything else. And you know what the easy solution I use is? Deodorant. Works a treat - spray it on and no more sweating

Default No Underwear At Night

I sometimes get the "raw feeling" down there because I have the sweating thing too. I find it really helps NOT to wear underwear to bed. I let myself dry off and airout. Of course I make it quite clear to my DH that it is not a sexual thing---- :p
