Question Excessive Bleeding..

Hi all.. My story goes back a way, to when I was 16 and my life was turned upside down by a gazillion different things. I was soo stressed out and it was apparently at that point when my hormones went completely out of whack, I started gaining a lot of weight, and my periods stopped all together. It took a while to figure out that that was the beginning. But anyway, what happened was that I didn't get my period for about 2 years. Not even spotting, really. The doc gave me some pills for me to get my period, and I did 2 or 3 times, but then it went away again, of course. I took a 5 month vacation back to the "old country" and believe it or not, I felt soo good that I started to get my period and lose weight (what stress can do to you, huh?). When we came back to CA, my period continued for about 6 months, and then stopped again because my life went back to the stress-filled life that it was. I experienced occasional spotting and very, VERY light periods once in a while, but nothing solid. Looking back, I realize that this wasn't typical, but it was typical for me, so I didn't think much of it. Recently, though, I get spotting/light period once every month or 2, but then once I got such a heavy period and sooo much pelvic pain. I literally had to change my pad every hour, as it soaked through. Why does that happen? Again, my periods, my cycle used to be TOTALLY normal. I had zero problems.. no hairy chin, no irregular period or skipped periods, no pain (I never even had PMS), until then. GR! I just turned 23, and growing up causes you to pay more attention to the stuff that's going on with your body. So I'm wondering.. I know this isn't "typical," but does it happen to anyone else? Heavy, heavyy periods once in a while, between times of almost no period or a very light one?

Oh, and I forgot to mention.. Might be a little TMI, but there's also a lot of.. tissue? mucous? Lol, sorry! Really don't know which it is.. but its definitely there. It's only happened once.

Have you been to a doctor?
I had the very same thing, changing a pad every hour. Do you have cysts on your ovaries? My dr thought that my cyst had ruptured due to the heavy bleeding and huge clots.
I'm so sorry your going through this. If I were you, I'd def go to a dr right away.
You can become very anemic (I was) and "bleed out". Go to the dr and keep us updated!!
