So I have been diagnosed about 2 yrs ago..and my gyn prescribed dianne 35....however i have no problems with my menstrual cycle...but i do have acne and excessive facial hair....after 3 months on dianne i couldnt take d side effects no more and it made my acne 10 times worst!!! so i came off of it....i exercise regualary...i do spinning 3 times a week....I have been exercising off and on for the last 3yrs and i have since lost 40 pounds...i now weigh 170 at height of 5'6...
however over the past 3 months i have started experiencing some weird things:
1) my hands are alwayssss sweating so much so that at work i have a napkin nex to2 my keyboard and wipe my hands all day. Not only my hands but also my feet and under arms....infact i have to pay much attention to the arm pits of my clothes when i wash.
2) I am feeling veryyyyy tired despite the fact that i exercise regularly...eat properly and take vitamins...i wake up tired every morning(i never felt that way b4)
3) Although I started spinning which is an increase in my exercise programme b4 all i did was home dvds such as billy blanks. I cant seem to lose any more weight....I started spinning in May at 170 and i still weigh 170...other ppl i stared with looks so much better and lost alot of weight and I eat better than them...but i feel alot better tho....and my legs looks more toned but i was hoping to see better results as i put alot of effort in my fitness
I am scheduled to see my GYN on Oct 31st (i am goin 2 a new gyn tho) he was recommended by a fren who also has PCOS, he put her on glucophage and she is seeing great results....feels better and lost weight....so i am hoping he recommends the same for me.
Does any one experience the same excessive sweating?? and fatigue? These symptoms are all so strange to me as I am a very active person and am always energized and the sweating can be embarrassing at times....HELP!!!!

Hi Tringilly, I don't usually look into this forum, I usually check the alternative remedies, infertility and the do you have this problem forums, but the title of this forum popped up on the main page. Sorry you have not gotten responses, but maybe people do not have the similar symptoms and not sure how to help?
I do have some excessive sweating issues, but I think that is very odd that it happened after you lose all your weight. I have had this problem since, well forever, and while it is not as bad as some people, it is very bothersome and embarassing. I have a hate/love relationship with summer let me tell you.
Anyway, the only thing I could think of is maybe it's something to due with your thyroid? Have you had it checked? I found this website to be helpful (http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com) and I am trying to figure out if I have a thyroid problem at the moment.
I hope your doctor appointment went well today and that the gyno had some answers for you. A lot of women have done really well on Metformin (generic of glucophage) and maybe that will help you. Also, I feel like I always hit plateau so much easier than non-PCOS women and maybe integrating another type of exercise may help?
I hope you feel better!

Thanks so much for ur response Daisy....FINALLY someone did.....so i did go 2 see the dr then and turns out that my entire right ovary is full of cyst....so he put me on glucophage (2x500mg @ night) and a bc called nyvollete....i asked in another thread if n e one used it and how it worked for them...but of course no one replied ;-) (but i no its not an american based pill so its not that common) so 4 d 1st week of taking it i vomit and so on alot but i am much better now..(hope 2 lose some weight on it) as 4 d excessive sweating i asked him about it as well and he said d same thing about the thyroids but he explained what are the usual symptoms when its tyroid related (cant remember right now what are they) and i dont have those symptoms....do u take glucophage? if so in what dosages? and how did it work?
Hi Tringilly, I would have your doctor check your thyroid just in case next time because not everyone presents with the same symptoms. At least if the results are normal, you can rule that out. I don't take BC or Metformin and am trying a more natural approach to normalize my cycles, etc for the last couple of months. So far, not the best results, but I do need to incorporate more exercise into my life... I need some of your motivation!
I used to take Yaz and that worked out fine, but I didn't like the way I felt on them. It just made me feel weird. Glad you are adjusting to your BC though, sometimes when you first take BCs or start a new type of BC, it makes people nauseous, etc. I also tried taking Metformin (1500mg), but I have a very sensitive stomach and it just made me feel jittery and caused a lot of intestinal discomfort. Taking the extended realease version helped a bit, but I have decided that I am going natural for now. However, metformin has helped so many women so I hope you have positive results. I would check out the metformin forum for more information, I'm sure the lades on those boards have a lot more information than me on this subject.
Good luck!

I don't have the sweating at my palms very often unless I'm nervous. I do however sweat buckets from my arm pits... the Dr I saw just has me switching my deodorant/ antiperspirant often in hopes that we can find something that works. So far no luck... As for the weight it's fairly common for people to hit a mountain in the road as far as weight loss. The most important thing is actually maintaining the loss that you have. I'm sorry I couldn't be of better assistance. I would recommend checking with your doctor and see if you can get into a nutritionist. Good luck and keep your chin up!

I to have the same problems, which is so embarrassing as well. I never really thought it had anything to do with PCOS, but since joining the soulcyster um learning sum new everyday.......
Daisy I most certainly agree with u....I am goin 2 get it checked out but may b not by my Gyno.....but the next time I go 4 a check up....i have researched it u know....but i have found no results that link PCOS with sweating but in asking around it is a bit common among women with PCOS....but i aint no DR so i dunno ;-)......have u ever asked ur DR about it SKRILER?
Naymarie--> Thanks 4 ur response....i'm goin 2 try to "buck up" on my diet from 2morow....by cutting down on carbs...particularly rice and flour.....as I have recently started MET (like a lil less than 2 weeks) and I know it should help with weight loss....and I have recently been a lil deliquent wit my eating habits so i'm get back on tract from 2morow...and continue wit my Spinning on Mon, Wed and Thurs.....so if after the MET...proper eating....and reg exercise.....still no results....geez....i'll have 2 find a new plan.....but at 170 I am not THAT bothered about my weight.....but I was just hoping that my progress would continue....so I'm hoping 4 d best!
Daisy--> Have u ever tried Spinning b4? its very exciting....once u enroll in a good class i'm sure u'll love it!...do u know if there is any in any gyms near by? I never ever feel like "oh gosh i have spinning 2day....in fact I am a bit disappointed when the class is all booked up....and i like tryin new things but since i tried the spinning i jus love it....i will eventually have 2 do some weight training and reduce the cardio.....but maybe next year!! check it out...it might b the motivation u need!
Hi tringilly, I used to spin a lot, but after about a year I kind of got bored of it I think it had to do with joining a new gym where the spin instructors were not as fun, but maybe I will try it again. It does feel amazing when you are done though, it's like the whole entire time I think I'm going to die and then when I'm done I feel so awake and alive haha
Good luck with met, try to take probiotics and cut back on carbs as you may find that your stomach may be more sensitive than usual.
Let me know how it goes!

Thanks Daisy...I think I am over my symptoms of MET...hopefull...i keeping my fingers crossed!.....and i am starting 2 feel a bit more energized.....so i'm excited about that! i'll keep u posted!....how is it goin 4 u tho?? with the natural stuff ur taking?
I've sweated A LOT but not all the time, comes and goes, so I've never been able to figure out why. I never really linked it to PCOS, but I'll certainly be watching this thread for info - good luck!
I have this problem as well! but i never really thought it to be related to PCOS! It is very embarassing!!! I sweat everywhere! especially my head!!! I am glad to know that i was not crazy!!!
I also have excessive sweating on/off especially around my neck and torso. It started happening about 2 yrs ago. I was diagnosed w/ PCOS in 2001. Metformin can work great. I took it while TTC and was successful. It also helped avoid excessive weight gain and gestational diabetes during my pregnancy. I have tried to take it since for weight loss, but the side effects were too much for me the second and third try. I would recommend a balanced/low carb diet (Proteins and veggies). Since you already exercise, just keep doing it. DO NOT drink alcoholic beverages while on Met. It can make you sick and increase the side effects. Other than that, you seem to be on the right track.
On another note, I used to spin. It was great, but watch your knees. It can cause some damage, especially if your instructor likes to do the standing sprints.
Good luck!
Thanks alot "PCOSVET" I appreciate your words of advice and encouragement.....I have a ques 4 uall tho....I currently take 2 glucophage in the nite (2x500mg) thats my dosage so a total of 1000 for the day.....before starting the MET i was veryyyyyyyy tired when I woke up in d morning.....now while on MET I do wake up feeling much better!!! but by 4 in the afternoon I find my body CRASHES!!! I have NOOOO energy to go on.....so I actually only made it to Spin class once this week and on that one day I really struggle tru d class....I was wondering do u all think like the glucophage "wares out" by that time I know some ppl take it after every meal.....or do u all think my dosage is to low??
Hi trinigilly, I'm just noticing your question. A few years ago I started the excessive sweating after having had PCOS (undiagnosed) for 10 years or more. Once I started Metformin (generic Glucophage) the sweating stopped. However, if I miss 2 or more doses, I start to sweat again. Feels like I was going through the hot flashes of menopause. I would sit at work with 2 fans on me and it still didn't help.
I'm on 850mg of Metformin 2x daily. I take one in the morning and one in the evening. I'm constantly tired but not sure if it's the Metformin or other medications or medical problems I have but you may want to try separating your pills to see if that helps with the crash you feel in the afternoons.
OK so now I am convinced that PCOS contributes to excessive sweating....we can't all b experiencing this and its coincidental....as for the increasing of my dosage I want 2 see my gyn and ask him(which is not gonna b till Jan)....and he advised that i take them in d nite so i sleep away the side effects.
