Default Excited! New way to deal w/ dark skin patches

I have acanthosis nigricans (since I was about 9 or 10 I've had it in my inner thighs mostly, but as an adult random other patches). I have melasma ("pregnancy patch" on my face, though I've never been pregnant).

I've also had the acanthosis nigricans on my eyelids who whole adult life. It looks like I"m always wearing brown eye shadow. I hate this the most because of course it's totally visible, and I've always felt it darkens my face and makes me look tired and older.

So I was SO excited when I received some samples of some new Neutrogena makeup (on sale this week at CVS, too!). I am a Buzz Agent and occasionally get new product samples. This is a dream come true! I've always been afraid to wear a concealer on my eyes because I wear contact lenses and have sensitive eyes. But this Neutrogena eye makeup set (I used the color "Tea Biscuit" -- my skin is fair/medium) has a "base". I think you're meant to use the colors on top of it, but when I put the base on my eyelids it blends right to my natural skin color and the darkness is completely gone! My face looks brighter and happier. I wore it all night with contact lenses, and no problem! I came home and it had still covered.

I don't know how many of you have the AN on or near your eyes, but this is the best thing I've found.

yeah... I checked out neutrogena's website a little while ago and they have amazing products espeically make up wise, they even have a system for acne that they claim is better then proactiv... I saw quite a few make up pieces that were suppose to actually conseal and help skin!

only problem (at least for me) is that the make up stuff and some other products are only available in the USA and on the USA website, so if your Canadian (and live in canada) your SOL. I was so disapointed that I actually wrote the canadian site and asked them why they dont sell in canada and when they might... they said that they are going to forward my question/request to their marketing department so I would love to think its coming to canada... but Im not holding my breath...

I'm happy that you found something that works for you and Im sure boosts your self-esteem. try looking on the main website for the USA, they got some good looking products and maybe you can share here other good responds u have with the other products?

--good luck! It seems like this is a new line and there's a big push to market it (which is why they're doing this PR campaign). I will definitely forward your issue to them and suggest that they consider the Canadian market! Maybe they'd like to market the eye stuff specifically to us SoulCysters!

Usually if I ever wear eye makeup I'm fussing with my eyes all night and scratching, but I even wore the mascara sample and had no problem at all!

When I try the concealer on my melasma I'll post here again. I wanted to try the eye stuff first since it's so much more visible than my melasma patch (which is mostly covered by my bangs).

I should add, too, that the eye makeup base is matte. When I've tried in the past to lighten with eye shadow it's usually shiny and calls attention to it. This just made my eyes look "normal" -- all one shade!

hey if you got pull to help the make up stuff to be marketed in Canada omg yes please! they showed on the site that they had make up thats suppose to help acne prone skin while covering up blemishes! Ive thought about catching a ride accross the border to try the stuff but figure it wouldnt be fair to myself to fall inlove with the stuff and not be able to really buy it. but if you try more make up stuff from them post your experiences with it
