Unhappy Excruciating periods...

Hey girls,

So pretty much all my life (well since I got my period anyway) I have always had really bad cramps, I've been to hospital before because I haven't been able to handle the pain. During my last period I was in so much pain that I vomited multiple times and it was horrible, ended up getn into bed after taking many painkillers and having to just lie there and grin n bare it. Usually if I can find a position to put myself in and I don't move then I can bare the pain until I fall asleep, but I hate that it affects me so much!!! Anyone got any tips? Is this related to the PCOS do you think?

Sarah

I don't know if it is PCOS related or not, but I go through the same thing. For me, I usually start to feel better once I start bleeding heavy, usually CD2. By then my cramps aren't as bed, even though I feel like I should invest in Always Overnights!

Something that has helped is to really limit my caffeine intake the week before I know AF is coming. I love those disposable Thermawrap pads! Also chamomile tea is a natural muscle relaxer and decaffeinated. Also, naproxen is much better then many other otc pills because it is an anti-inflammatory.

I wish there was more to tell you, but these are the things that I've had luck with!

Good luck to you!

That sounds like endometriosis. My sister has it, and it's gotten better now, but before her periods would be so bad she was throwing up and fainting. Look it up and see if it sounds like you, it also seems to go hand and hand in PCOS. Also how often do you have your period? If you're not having periods on a regular schedule, they could be worse because 1) your body has more to rid of and 2) your not really having a chance to "get used" to it. I only have a period about once a year and when I do have one, i'm in bed the entire time, it's awful! But goodluck and keep us posted!

Hmmm... nah I don't think its endometriosis. I get my period usually just over a month apart I think. I don't really keep tabs on it too well though I guess I should! Lol. Hmmm I shall try some of those things I think. I'm going to a naturopath soon so I'll tell her about it and see if she can do something for it.
