Default Exercise Dvd's

Hi Guys

I thought that I would let you all know about the way I have been exercising. I don't know about everyone else but I find that the normal exercise dvd's are quite boring. I soon lose interest in them. I seem to do them about 3 or 4 times and thats it, it gets forgotton. I have tried the gym, but its often hard to find the time to go. So I am now trying to exercise a different way. I have brought 3 Dvd's that exercise by dancing. I don't know if any of you have tried this but I thought I'd give you all abit of info on them. They are 'The Hip Hop Workout' 'Slim & Salsacise by Rosemary Conley' and 'Angela Griffin's Dancemix.' Just a little review on them for you.

The Hip Hop Workout
This is quite hard if you haven't got the stamina. Its very active and the instructor doesn't seem to explain the moves very well. However, the dance moves are really fun. And if you have it on Dvd then you can slow down the moves to learn them. I will certainly be having another go when I feel alot more energetic.

Slim & Salsacise
This is split up into 3 sections. But before the sections RC shows you the dance steps that she will be using throughout the Dvd. Section A is at a beginner level. This section is very easy. Its perfect for a started point. Section B is intermediate. Section C is advanced. This Dvd is good if your not used to dancing. RC is abit cheesy sometimes, but its good as she explains very well everything that she is doing.

AG Dancemix
This Dvd is my favourite. It has a warm-up like the others. Then it has three sections, Pop, Hip Hop then Salsa. All these areas are good. I really enjoy the salsa bit. I like this one the best. For a shortish work out you can pick one section. Or you can pick two. At the moment I sometimes do two, or if I haven't got much time I just pick one. The moves are very well explained. I have picked it all up in a nearly 2 weeks.

Doing this Dvd is really alot of fun. And don't worry if your not used to dancing, the latter two explain the moves very well. And most important part for me is that it is fun. I've found a way to exercise and not get bored. I'm even thinking about doing salsa lessons. When I'm thinner of course. But its something to look forward to.

I hope this is useful to you all.

Take care

Bex

Default Dancing for workout

I just wanted to say ...dance to all your music.....!!!

I always put my music on to do the housework...needless to say it takes me all day to do the housework.

Best thing for me is to chose 4 of my fav albums, kick everyone out of the house and dance all day whilst making the house look fantastic.

Excellent exercise, fantastic de-stresser and good use of time!

A day of this and my cleaning is done for the week and theres a wonderful sunday dinner prepared for everyone to enjoy....well some of the times!!

Thanks for the replies. I'm always dancing, thats why I thought these dvd's would be an excellent way to exercise. I'm always singing too. Around the house, in the car, anyway really, as long as I am on my own. I think that dancing is the best way to exercise, and its sooo much fun.

Thanks for the info. I ordered the hip-hop workout on Amazon so I'm expecting it to arrive this week. At least I know what's in store for me now!!! My sister is using a Rosemary Conley DVD and thinks it's great but tried the hot pants work out but found it a bit difficult to keep up!!! The Angela Griffin DVD sounds interesting so if the hip-hop goes well I might give it a try!!

I bought a belly-dancing/exercise video a couple of months ago to try something different!! I didn't stick to it but it was a bit of fun. My boyfriend always encourages me to watch it and practice the moves!!!

Where did you get the belly dancing one from?

I live in a flat, so I don't think my downstairs neighbours would be too keen if I started salsa-ing round the place, but I would like to try belly dancing!

I bought them from Amazon.com. There's a lot of choice for exercise videos there. I can't remember the name of the one I have, it's something like Egyptian Belly Dancing for beginners. But I just checked the website and there's lots there. Definately worth a try if you want somthing different!!!

Doing the salsa isn't that loud. The other ones have you jumping round all over the place. Its alot of hip movement and arms. There's less moving jumping about than the others, although there is a small amount. Good luck in your search for the right dvd.
