Question Exercise: How Much and What do you do?

I was thinking about Kat's old post about how to lose weight or maintain weight one should get at least 80 minutes of exercise a day.

I *strive* for 1000 calories burned, which is usually 1/2 hr of Tae-Bo, 1 Hr of Dance and 1 1/2 hrs of Yoga or Pilates, but I usually do only one or two of the exercises, not all three.

So what does everybody else do? How long do you exercise? When do you fit adequate exercise into your schedule?

I'd like to glean some ideas to stave off boredom . . .

WOW...80 mins?!

I got to my goal weight by doing 35-40 mins of rollerblading, running or walking (3-5 times a week).

My goal is to work out for an hour of cardio 5 days a week and strength training 3 days a week.
I almost always do the cardio 7 days a week though. I find it's just habit after the 5 days and I really enjoy it.
My main cardio is working out on the gazelle and running (when the weather is nice). My strength training is free weights.

SH, I've seen those infomercials for the gazelle - it looks like fun. Do you like it? Is it effective?

I really enjoy it. I got it at Wal-Mart for about 220 bucks. You definately only get out of it what you put into it. I warm up and then go really hard for about 40 minutes and it seems to be toning pretty well. My butt looks great!

I use Power 90. It's three days a week of cardio plus abs (about 50 minutes total) and three days a week of weights (about 40 minutes total). It's a great total-body workout. I've never used home fitness programs before, so I don't know how it compares to others, but I like it. I feel strong when I lift weights!

My regular routine, which helped me to lose 26lbs, was this:
36 min treadmill, mix of walking and running, 3-4 times a week and 1hr walk (quick pase) 1-2 times a week.

I'm trying to mix it up a bit because my body is probably getting used to this routine, so I've been adding some free weights, rope jumping and situps.

80 minutes a day is pretty unrealistic and probably too much. My RD recommended that I do cardio 4 times a week (25min approx) and resistance training 3 times a week, and she said I'd probably have to cut back on that when I reach my goal weight.
