I am finding out how wonderful exercise is. I have PCOS, and I am pretty high risk for diabetes (gestational diabetes 3x in past). I was trying to lose wieght, and have a binging problem. A few days ago I started exercising 30 minutes per day, plus wieght lifting. WOW!~!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can just feel my clothes fitting me better and better.
Did you know exercise is like a drug for diabetes, and lots of other things if you do enough of it? Whats 1 hour of exercise everyday? I can do that for myself!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! I think this post is really what I need. I know that regular exercise is good and after my first baby it really helped control the PCOS, but since having my second (2 years ago), I haven't been able to motivate myself. But, I need to carve out time to exercise! I will definitely do that first thing in the morning tomorrow. Hold me accountable?!
If you want some extra accountability, head on over to www.fitcysters.com (its a companion site to soulcysters). They're running a bootcamp and you can pretty much jump in any time. There's differerent goals for the different weeks but one of the constant goals is 300 minutes of exercise every week. Figure out what you want to do, make a blog post and jump on in!

thanks everyone for the comments. Bumbler, I will check out Fitcysters!
I have good energy today. We planted garden, and I am not worn out. I feel light as a feather. I think the exercise is going to get me off of my plateau. It also is making me lower my appetite and also for sweet things, it seems to help sometimes!?
I think I have lost more than 6 lbs, I got rid of my scales. I was so focused on the scale, It was actually hindering my wieght loss. I am in this for the long run. If it takes me 10 years to lose these 49 lbs, I will do it. I will do this for myself. Its all about Long term lifestyle changes and commitments. Its not about a short term thing. If I want to keep up the benefits of exercise and eating more intuitively, then I need to do it for life. Period. I might as well accept it, and be good to myself by just plain doing it!

It is hard for me to get off the couch. The only exercise that I enjoy is swimming, once I get out there I feel good, but I don't think I am doing it enough to get GREAT effects.
I WILL try harder.
It gets so hot here in Phoenix that there is not much outdoor exercises you can do other than swimming.
I absolutely LOVE my treadmill. It is in my room and parked in front of the TV. I put on a good movie and go to town. I do it for 50 minutes 3 days a week and on the days that I do resistance training I do it for 30 minutes (3 days a week). I am DRIPPING sweat when I get off of that thing. But I love the way I feel after. I have to push myself through the last few minutes, but it's worth it. I am going to the beach tomorrow with some friends (the first clear day in a few weeks...I am not missing it!) and then I have a 4 hour chemistry class until nearly 10 pm. I am going to miss my treadmill tomorrow. Any idea of what I can do at the beach to get some excercise in? I want to sweat!
I have noticed a HUGE difference in myself. It is not that I have lost tons and tons of weight, but my clothes fit better after only 2 weeks and I have noticed that I carry myself differently. I know it is all because of exercise. It makes me feel powerful and very much like a woman.

Today I started walking on an eliptical that my mom has here, did 30 minutes. Does anyone think this will help?
give me advice please....
If you are giving it your all and you can incorporate some strength training too, then I'm sure you'll notice some change in your PCOS symptoms/weight.
Also, if you really want to get all you can out of your elliptical workouts, try Cardio Coach, its only $4.95 for a volume and will be the best $4.95 you can spend as far as cardio workouts go!

Thank you for the motivation ladies, I find it very difficult to exercise as I suffer from debilitating fatigue, but I am taking it day by day, exercise when I can and hopefully I will reach my goal weight.
