Default Exercise and Met

Hey all,

I've been on Met almost a week now, and I've been having problems with exercising... I used to not have any problems, but now I'm feeling pretty weak while working out. It's about to the point that I have a really hard time with weights now (and that used to be my favorite part) and after I workout I feel a little faint/shaky. Would this be my blood sugar dipping too low perhaps? I really need to keep working out, I used to be on glucophage a couple of years ago but I wasn't exercising so it wasn't helping at all. My doctor then told me to stop taking it, and to let her know when I was ready to exercise and she'd put me back on it. So now I'm back on it and working out, but this doesn't feel right at all.

Any suggestions? Other than this I've felt fine so far... no tummy or other problems... at least not YET... so I really want this to work.

Default exercising

I have just started back at the gym as well and I have felt very shakey and nauseous when I get home. The only way to get the shakes away for me is to eat something, and quickly! Tonight I worked out and then decided to cook dinner. It took a lot longer than I had anticipated, which was very unfortunate because I got shakey about five minutes in to the cooking. I was tempted to grab something real quickly, but I'm trying to find a particular meal plan and I bought enough food for the week to follow the diet to a T, so I did not want to screw myself up. Even after I ate, I felt a little shakey, but definitely better. I've never had problems with exercising before, so it must be the medicine. Anyone else have any input?

Wink

Wow - I noticed the same thing last night! I think it probably is low blood sugar. I, typically, don't like to eat anything before working out because I tend to get queasy when I do, but I'm thinking a piece of fruit before heading to the gym might be a good idea. I just started met. a week ago and have worked up to 1500 as of yesterday. I haven't had any other side effects either - that is why I had been moving my dose up so quickly.

I'll try the fruit tonight and see if that helps.
