I have the set that comes with weighted balls (3 videos: 1 mile, 2 mile, 3 miles). You can get an upper body workout and burn calories at the same time.
Here's a website where you can read more about them or order them. You may get these at places like Walmart, though, too: http://www.walkawaythepounds.com/homepage.asp

I once weighed 343 pounds (and I'm only 5'2 1/2'). I have lost over 100 pounds, but have quite a bit to go to get to goal. You may be interested in this ongoing diet buddy thread for those with a lot to lose: Got a lot to lose?
Please don't feel alone. There is so much info and support on this board that will help you. You have a long journey ahead of you, but it is definitely do-able!

I really like Classical Pilates and Belly Dance! They're really nice, and they make me feel so good afterward, all sorts of sexy and fit.
There's a GREAT website all about Fitness Videos and DVDs. They have a message board, reviews, suggestions and even a video exchange! Here it is: Video Fitness.
I hope you like that site as much as I do!

Everyone has something to lose, for some it's a lot, for others it's a little. But there are several very important things to think about : 1. We're all here to support one another unconditionally, 2. Every little tiny eensy-weensy bit of effort counts and should be applauded, 3. Other people have lost lots and lots of weight, you can too, 4. Think of yourself in a positive light first as that's the biggest change and adjustment you'll make. (you could start by changing your username to something like Gorgeous_Lady instead of something derogatory.) |

I have it both on video (with the weighted balls) and the newer DVD version that comes with a 'stretchie' for strength training. It is low impact, not complicated, and has various levels. You can do the 1 mile walk, 2 mile walk, or the 3 mile walk. I have done it every morning this week so far!
fat_loser: just wanted to say that it does NOT matter to us how much you have to lose .... you are ALWAYS welcome here and valued here. All of the things we talk about regarding losing weight are things that anybody can incorporate regardless of how much they weigh. My only advice to you would be to read, read, read in order to educate yourself about your health and then get pro-active (or ask someone to help) in order to change things. {{{{HUGS}}}}}

Points: 2,304.00 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,304.00 | Hi all
Linda and Julie....thanks for ur suggestions....I went to the website...It seems to be great....maybe i'll get myself the beginners one and build up to the 3 mile one slowly.
snowbunny...thanks for the video fitness link...it's got great info....am going through it right now!!
and most importantly....fat_loser(i'd really like u to change this name....y do u think urself to be a loser??.....u r not....it's not ur fault that u r fat!!) It is not that u always see that u r growing fat....it's suddenly that u realize that u r overweight.....well..i think that realization is where u actually start winning it is the first and most important thing to starting on your weight loss battle!! It happened to me...i went ot the docs and suddenly saw the needle tip way way into the wrong direction....gave me a huge jolt.....now i'm slowly chaging my lifestyle permanently to achieve long term benefits...i know i'll never have a great bod like cindy or others like her...but i can have a fit happy healthy life...it's testing my patience actually...but i think the long term rewards are too great to give up on it!!
I think the weight loss buddy forum is good and u will definitely get support there....plus i'd recommend u get all the tests done(there r stickies in the different forums which u can see)and start accordingly....u r weight is due to a medical problem!! this is true for most of us here and u don't have to feel guilty about it....u just have to work hard and try and get ur weight under control!!
everyone here's going to give u full support...u r not alone!!
thanks everyone for the tips/suggestions.... |

She is someone determined to lose fat, making her a fat loser. Kind of like those optical illusion pictures that can be looked at more than one way to see different things in the picture

The best place to start is to read all you can about this horrible condition! The second is to get hooked up with a doctor who knows how to treat this thing. I have a great friend who is overweight, as she says that is putting it mildly. She has begun medication, started the IR diet, easy once you're onto it and is walking for exercise. I can't tell you the way the pounds have melted off her. It amazes me every time I see her. Her face has changed so much I almost don't recognize her if i go more than a couple months without seeing her. She set out to take control back and regain her health. In the process she has seen bountiful benefits and feels so much better about herself. BEst wishes to you on your journey. Please keep posting, the ladies here are phenominal!!!
Best exercise videos are the FIRM overall workout available from Target I think and the Denise Austin yoga and pilates. Less than 45 minutes for us busy moms.
Great post idea by the way!
